i agree with benjichris88... all my cars use raytech tinted film(except for my xtrail which came with Vkool and Llumar security)... personally i find that raytech is better than vkool or rikecool(used both brands before too as change cars often)..
not to mention the price is way cheaper. hahahaha....

I'm also on Raytech...introduced by Benji...Thanks a lot bro!..the only set back were they (the installer) not so good on older car like my E34(they tint new cars alot)......but I'm not totally blamed them..as an old car, our door cards already reput one...but they seem lost, dun know how to open the door cards...only if they asked, I would gladly opened the cards for them..as a result, they broke one of my door card very badly!!
The problem is, to find a 'new' used door cards blue color is like to find needles in haystacks...

Hi There,
Just wanna share my experience.
Before picking up my starex (11 seater MPV), did a lot of research before settling for nViro which i think is value for money.
Came up to half the price of VKool Elite 70 and ..............lifetime warranty :top:
RM1,800 vs RM3,600.............. no brainer right?

Anyway performance is real good, what with many large windows, the tint would really need to perform and it certainly does.
:listen: Anyone who wants to look for tints should really put nViro on their list-of-potentials.

Cheers!

There is one in sri kembangan next to the caltex station. it's across honda showroom.

I've tinted 2 cars there right after my wifes window got smashed and handbag snatched.
not bad and price can negotiate.

I'm going there this saturday. if you want, we can meet there.

There is no tint film that come together for cars coming from most manufacturers in Malaysia, definitely not from BMW or Auto Bavaria.

All film type tints are after-market application.

AB does not sell their cars with tinting. It is usually done as a private arrangement between the Sales person and the Buyer. Depending on the Sales Person or the Buyer preference, it could be any of the more popular films. There is no particular brand. It would also not be in AB records. If AB Glen Marie, it is most likely done by Tint Shop, so check with them. I have both Ecotint and vKool on my cars bought from AB Glen Marie.

There should be some sort of documentation in your car.

In any case, there is no harm in putting any brand of tint of your choice. It doesn't have to be the same. Make sure you dont exceed the regulations.

If your car 'born' from JB branch, then should be Llumar.

Car was "born" from AB Sg Besi, KL. anyway the tint was not the dark type (more like V-Kool) and the front windscreen tint is a lighter tone tint. Don't know why Puspacom idots removed it!!!

NOT TRUE in as far as compliance with JPJ and Puspakom standards. I found out that my39 was tinted by RIKE KOOL. Last week the used car dealer sent the car to Puspacom for inspection and transfer of ownership. Puspakom guy insisted that the front windscreen tint to be removed otherwise won't passed the inspection. Dealer/runner told the officer thast tint is RIKE KOOL but still have to remove. Will RIKE KOOL now replace the tint FOC???

My budget would be below 2k for whole car including front wind screen. Which brands would i be able to get with that budget?

Air cool is not bad either. Had my E60 done up in the region of a thousand plus inclusive of 5 year warranty and front windscreen. :top:

When will we ever learn that the JPJ "Approval" obtained and brandished by all screen manufacturers/sellers dont mean a thing.

It is the tested visible light transmission (VLT) after installation that counts.

All windscreens and widows has some level of tint. Some as high as 20% VLT but most are below 5%. This is inherent in glass especially tempered heat resistant ones.

The films might be "approved" by JPJ but when installed together with the window/windscreen and it exceed the regulations of VLT of 70% (front) and 50% (sides/rear), you will still get summoned. These days, the police will not only issue you with a summons but will also tear it and you are required to present the car with the film removed at the JPJ and pay a compound.

For example, lets say your brand XXX JPJ approved film has a 80% VLT. Your windscreen already has some tint that gives 90% VLT. Put it together and what you have is 70% VLT and this does not take into account, other features of the film and dirt. When they test it, I bet it is worse than that and you have to have it replaced. The policeman does not have a light tester when he tears it. The Puspakom technician is not quite walking around with a full deck of cards up there when he's doing the test.

I remembered sometime ago, there was a hue and cry from owners of imported reconditioned Honda CRV that had side windows with only 40% VLT. There were some who had lighter ones with 70% VLT and fitted them with films.

So frankly, dont pay no mind to the JPJ Approval shown by the films. As far as I'm concerned they can throw the certificate into the dustbin. It might work on the uninitiated but not me. To me a cheapo non-approved film that does not exceed the regulation will still pass.

I have had mine removed once not because it exceeded the VLT rule but because it had reflective gold dust.
