After 162 replies on this thread, I finally got mine done last Friday and I went for V-Kool 55 all round including the front windscreen. I could confirm that tint is Smart Tag friendly and no problem with the remote control when unlocking/locking the car from distance. The heat rejection was pretty good. I felt like wearing a polarized sunglass when driving and it makes the eyes more relaxed. Wife agreed with this.. Hehe

The v kool 55 though is not a grey color tint that i was actually looking for. The tint color is slightly greenish but not as green as the v kool elite. If you have a dark interior car then the appearance would turns to a sexy deep dark tint, maybe because the light reflectance was pretty low i suppose. My car is in light oyster interior and i am also pretty satisfied with the results lah but it definitely look super sexy on a dark interior car imho.

The only drawback now is that my tomtom gps on my iPhone 3GS is no longer usable because the gps receptions could not enter the car. But this drawback does not outweigh the benefit of having a smart tag friendly and superb heat rejection tint. Owh yes, it comes with 5 years warranty of peeling, bubbles or demetallisation/karat.. No summon warranty though as i took the v kool 55 for my windscreen. They will cover for it if i took the v kool elite for the front windscreen but i was afraid with the smart tag issues.

btw, thanks guys for all those helpful comments, really appreciate it. Also BIG thanks to bro Rayhwc for recommending/racun me with this tint.. :4:

Hi RH5,

You were gearing towards 3M and Huper Optik from the beginning. What made you change your mind at the last moment? V kool is more expensive than the rest.

Installed Huper Optic c70 front n c40 for rest. Through experience on my prev ride very happy with the result. rm1800 at smart tint jalan sg besi. No prob with smart tag/gps and autogate :)

I would prefer Huper Optic SECH60 for the front and C50 for the rest. SECH60 pretty good for heat rejection plus Smart Tag friendly.

Hi everybody, I am Window Film consultant for Raytech International Window Film. You can called me, "Lord Gitsy". We are also one of the BMW Club merchant. I will post more accurate information to all consumer from time to time. Please visit my link, or like us in Raytech Window Film facebook for more information.

Firstly for your knowledge, Raytech window film already develop the best quality of film in term of solar control and safety performance in Malaysia, better than other USA brand product, Raytech do not buy film from any supplier locally, as well as oversea or taking master franchise from any USA film brand. We custom made and develop our own films from USA manufacturer with the film specification we request. That's make us different from other brand and Raytech is the first Malaysia window film company to expand our business distribution network internationally.

Please allow me to explain more about this company to you. Raytech Window Film is established in Malaysia as a local brand on 2004. After few years of experience, we realize that we have been cheated and the products that we are taking from local suppliers are not original films from USA and the problems such as orange peel effect, bubbles and discoloration start to appear after a mere period of 1-2 years.

Early 2007, we thought of acquiring a master franchise from USA window film brands such as Johnson, Global or Suntek into Malaysia. However, we gave up this idea after realizing the original films from these USA brands are not suitable for Malaysia market use. Only darker color films from these brands have better solar control performance, but it is not compliant with JPJ regulations.

Eventually, Raytech collaborated with Commonwealth Laminating and Coating, Inc. Martinsville Virginia USA to specially develop a series of products for Raytech . Thus, Raytech films specification are customly made in term of solar control performance, film color, VLT, thickness, Low-E etc to compete with other window film brand in Malaysia as well as worldwide. Besides, Raytech products made from direct factory come with original brand packaging and logo on the films itself. After 3 years of cooperation, Raytech Window Film is listed in the manufacturer's official website as their direct factory business partner.

Today, with the best quality and durable products, together with strong marketing focus, Raytech has expanded to 22 window tinting specialist shops in whole Malaysia. Raytech is also proud to become the first International window film company from Malaysia that expands to China, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealnd, Albernia, and Qatar.

Education Material of IWFA (International Window Film Association)

1. Infra-Red (IR) rejection not accurate to describe solar heat control of window film product.
2. IR only contribute 54% of Total Solar Energy Rejection.
3. SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient is more comprehensive to solar control performance.
4. It Is misleading to consumer if Manufacturer refer to IR rejection instead of SHGC

Hi RH5,

You were gearing towards 3M and Huper Optik from the beginning. What made you change your mind at the last moment? V kool is more expensive than the rest.

I have v kool 55 on my f10 and i had also tint my new car with huper optik c30 side and rear about 5 months ago. From my experience, I would prefer the v kool 55 over the huper C30 (agreed by a third person, the wifey). The heat rejection is definitely better plus the tint color is more to my liking, deep greenish, low light reflectance. In fact I have also convinced my father to get the v kool 55 on his new accord. Just make sure to tint the front windscreen with v kool 55 too..! make it all round.

I can see window film in market price is from few hundred to RM1k-RM2k. Most people just care about the price/promotion more than the product quality they taking. It is because nobody know how to identified one brand product quality, except just believing the specification stated in the brochure. Accurate or not accurate not nobody care about it.

More interesting issue is, those low grade film is performance good in the 1st maybe 2nd year, so it is more difficult to justified the product quality by consumer. If you guys really want to know everything about window film and safety film. Please visit my thread and read 2 articles. You will be very expect in window film and know how to choose a good window film brand in market. Of course, not Raytech Window Film only. Others is good also. I just provide the guideline to everybody know how to do survey in right way.

Not just looking for the highest IRR, and Lowest Price! I am sure you will get cheated easily.
