EasyDIS 44 and INPA working

Finally have some time to PLAY with the DIS, the component activation features are really cool and also the 'test plan'. I did the Vanos leak test on the intake and exhaust, and the bad news is that the exhaust did not pass. The deviation of the exhaust cam is -7 degree which is outside the acceptable range of -5 to +5, the times it took to reach the target positions for both intake and exhaust are ok but sluggish (up to 600+ms which I think it is slow, though within the 1000ms specified by BMW).

I think the cause is most like seals , perhaps the solenoids are also sticky.
After keeping my Vanos seals for months , I have decided to replace the seals asap after all there is a slight leak at the VCG. At the same time will clean up the solenoids.

Whoa IanDaddy this is so cool! I understand how component activation can be useful, where you activate suspected broken module.

Hope you can talk more on the test plan feature, how does it work? Do you program in a sequence of events to be tested then execute?

Spent less than an hour yesterday, so still quite new to it. The test plan thingy is something like you mentioned, you can select a few and build a test plan.
I was excited so forgot to take screenshots. I will try out further and shared.

I am looking at installing a new VM with V57, know any sites with the correct downloads ?

Thanks

Managed to create another vm with DIS V57. Did the APItest and seems ok to go, next will get sss-progman. Will try out on some E60s and E90s.

IanDaddy, your inbox is full so I'm going to reply here instead.

Hey IanDaddy,
I'm not at home so I can't really check the model. I think it is this one, ZC303
http://www.cliptec.com/asia/usb-converter.html

make sure at the back of the packaging it prints out all DB-9 pins, TX, RX, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, RI and GND. This means the lines are properly implemented. I can confirm the model after work today.

I thought you have this working already before, using native com port?
Thanks to your diligence in getting DIS v57 up, for me v44 is okay already.

Cheers
Aidil

I want to transfer to another laptop without serial port. I got v57 up because I need it for other new models.

inbox cleared.
Thanks again.

looks good, direct to usb. let us know how it goes..

A bit expansive though.. USD58 (not including freight) but at least no need to USB2Serial converter..

In the description, did it mention anything about ignition on detection? This is I think a requirement to autodetect the vehicle.

Yes it works with the cliptec converter, I actually bought another cliptec converter for the friend..

I didn't try with other converters since I only have one..

Good choice Jarance, I went for the Ediabas cable as it is cheaper and I was not sure if it is going to work.
