is all e9x and e60 here come with daytime running light? in some country it is compulsory to have this while driving in daytime for extra safety feature. Im using it for sometime but you know laa. all of them give you the sign that your headlight is on duh...
but everytime im traveling for outstation trip i always had this light on.

how about we start using it. all the e9x having their daytime running light on all the time..:top: sound silly not.

Dunno how to use this feature.. I know just turn the head light switch anti clock wise and its supposed to lit during insufficient lighting condition but it seems the Xenon is permanently on.. which is kind of annoying to other road users as if we flash them..

I noticed an E90 I trailed before when it goes under flyover, its rear light lit and 10 seconds after exiting the shaded section of the road, the rear light is switched off.. what feature is that? I only want that feature rather than permanently switch on the Xenon daytime driving lights.

U need to off the day time running light in order for u to only switch on the light whenever it is dark or goes under flyover or into parking and switch off when it's bright back or with daylight. To off it, u need to go into the menu in the OBC.

I keep getting confused myself. There's "auto" headlights i.e. it turns on by itself in dark conditions i.e. in a tunnel, basement car park etc (which is really cool and I now switch it perpetually on "auto" mode) and there's "adaptive" headlights i.e. the beam changes according to direction. The latter is more exclusive to models such as Velocity's E92 335i.

As for parking light, I showed Isky how to do it and boy, he was just as amazed as when I discovered it by going through the manual. For our E92 323i, we just turn the headlight knob to the furthest left position marked "A". I'm wondering if its the same for other cars. I noticed E46F's CBU 325i doesn't have this whilst Energy's S'pore reg E90 323i Highline has it.

I hv made some change in settings to my key but damn.... car is with missy during the day and can't test the settings... not until weekend.. :(

The way I understand from the manual is when u switch to "A" on the lighting switch, it will behave as whatever setting u set in the OBC..

OBC setting allow you to "ON" or "OFF" DRL (Daytime Running Lights). If ur OBC is "Off DRL" then when lighting switch to "A", u get the auto headlight to on when its dark. If u "On DRL" and lights switch to "A", then its the DRL that's on permanently as long as the ignition is on.

Wow. I didn't know that!

Hehehe. I had you in mind when we were discussing this. Yet again, DRL might be an "option" and hence not available in all cars?

Yes, maybe like what Juan said, it could be not available in all cars. Lets go thru it in our next meet up to check this out.

Scroll into your "Kunci" menu. Enter and u will see a list of option:

Order is not correct and list may not be complete.. this is what I remember.. :D
1. P: This is your "Parking" welcome light. I set 90 sec
2. Door: This is ur 1st remote unlock press, option to unlock all doors or only driver door. I put Driver door only on 1st press.
3. Lock: Do u require turn signal when lock car. I put "Yes"
4. Unlock: Do u require turn signal when unlock car. I put "No"
5. Sun: This is what we are discussing now. The sun indicate daylight. So u want to light or off. "Off" means no DRL lor.

Please comment..

By the way, BMW send me a present today... not an expensive gift la... but I appreciative of their effort!
