I can confirm E46s set up is same as mine..early birds like us only get the basics huh bro :106:

Now I am looking for ways to siphon out my engine oil after the first few thousand km run-in rather than waiting for the first 25k km service. If got engine oil dipstick, then its easy. E90 has no dipstick, so dunno how to access the oil in the oil pan without releasing the drain bolt.. :106:

No idea le... what year is yours? 320/323/325/328/330/335/340? CBU/CKD?

My '07 CKD 320i has got the automatic driving light setup nicely, after 10 sec under the sun, the headlight will switch off. Once under shade, it will turn on. Cool!

Ooo.. Yes !! One more item I left out in the key settings:

~ How u want the door to lock when the car starts moving.. It either by "TIME" or "SPEED" or "both". I set both.. :D Greedy mah.. :D

oh really we can set for both TIME and SPEED? em.......... gonna check it out tonight ~ cool

I got yours..pay them extra already..:p

Hehehehe... I collected mine today already! BTW, this is my second set cos an idiotic car jockey destroyed my first set when he tore up the plastic connector to pull out a parking stub. The parts guy at AB told me this happens very very often so please be mindful when handing your key to jockey!

Also, the reason why I got the pouch is cos when I had use of AB's courtesy E90 325i, I noticed the key was very badly scratched, particularly the emblem, so best to protect or it won't look so nice anymore.

Oh u are right..... mine is without the blue colour on the emblem!

I wonder if we can get updated firmware revisions flashed for our cars. Should unlock these goodies. Even the auto door lock as u drive off feature was a firmware flash which earlier batches of Munich CBUs didnt have till a updated firmware (Sept 05 I think) was downloaded to the car. I would really want better control of the automatic wipers, as the sensitivity is not that adjustable with the speed dial on the wiper stick. I hear some forummers got this solved with a firmware flash.

I think you are able to. The last time I sent the car for service they did a firmware upgrade without me asking. Took half a day to do it though...

The next time u send ur car for service you can request for it.

If there's one goodie I can't live with, it's the auto wiper. These software upgrades should be made a mandatory item with every service interval!

Well, my recent experience in AB Glenmarie tells me otherwise. My last firmware upgrade was the CIP 19.01 (or something like that lah...can't remember liao) to get the auto-lock feature. I specifically asked to upgrade the firmware and told the SA I didn't mind waiting half a day or even the whole day. He looked at me as if I was talking nonsense and told me "takda new version". I recall that even for the CIP 19 version upgrade, I had to write to BMW Malaysia because AB was telling me don't have such a version. I am definitely not going back to AB for servicing unless it's something do with the electronics or major stuff.

BTW sorry if I hijacked this thread to bitch and rant...hehehe

That's highly regrettable and hence, that's why I said it must be made a mandatory item at each service interval. I just started an "E9X Maintenance" thread which can be used to compile all our experiences at these so-called Authorised Service Centres. This in turn can be used to make formal approaches to BMW Malaysia should the service turn out to be unsatisfactory. Yes, if any BMW reps are reading this, we are gonna start documenting our gripes!

I suggest that since a lot of E90ers here have to rely on these authorised centres for service, do request for software upgrades and report the responses in that thread. If it's unsatisfactory, we will organise a convoy to the relevant person in charge and make a change.

We are UNITED and we mean BIZNES!

My new engine is due for the first 10k km service interval. Another 3k km to go for my first service. I will request for software upgrade and keep you guys posted k.

Well, I feel BMW M'sia is starting to drop the ball. Back in 2005 and 2006, I will always receive a call from BMW Malaysia to gather my feedback after I had sent my car for servicing in any BMW authorized service center. Even though I don't think any action was taken to act on the feedback :33:, I haven't received any calls from BMW M'sia anymore in 2007 after sending my car for servicing.:thumpdown:

Dunno if I'm paranoid or what but having the auto wiper on is dangerous when people throw eggs at u. Once the auto wiper starts to activate, u have to slow to a halt as the eggs will spread and blurred ur vision..

So do not on the auto wipe if its not a rainy day...:smokin:

Astroboy, I have just pay booking fees for a pre-reg 320i as well. And I was told that I need to pay for the name transfer, inspection and also the road tax. Did you pay for those?

For my pre-reg, yea, I paid for JPJ Transfer fees (postal order) and Road Tax. But not inspection. This was done in early part of 2007 tho, not sure if things have changed now.

I only paid on top of the car price for my pre-reg 320i:

1. RM350 for inspection, transfer bla.. bla.. bla.. All in.
2. Road tax
3. Insurance

I finally tried out my remote on my CKD '07 E90 320i and yes, it comes with the E46 feature of open and close window like the E46. :top:

That's a good point but what I meant was the adaptive wiper speed. Turning on the wiper is still what the driver has to do but pressing the A button on the wiper stalk, thereafter the wiper speeds adjust according to the intensity of the rain. I find this spot on cos it adjusts almost immediately by increasing wiper speed when there's a heavier downpour.

If you notice it, the wiper speeds adjust according to both the intensity of the rain and also the speed of the car. The faster you drive, the faster the speed of the wiper. If it is heavy downpour and your car is not moving (during heavy traffic or stop at traffic light or slow moving thru traffic), the wiper speed is also slow. That is what I am experiencing with my car.

Meaning I drive too fast la... I heavily rely on my Rain-X all these yeas and I need to the speed for the Rain-X to work... :D

Been using my E90 for local supermarket grocery trips in the evening and I find the car is rather difficult to handle compare to my old E36 which I own decades ago. Few possibilities:

1. The body is rather fat or wide to be exact to squeeze into supermarket parking bay, with an Innova and Fortuner next to u fighting for space.
2. The 225 size tyre has some what sacrifice the small turning radius of this rear wheel drive car. Making maneuvering in and out of parking lots difficult.
3. Steering is heavy when the car is slow. My missy is asking why when the car go slow, power steering not suppose to be lighter meh? I think she's refering to speed sensitive steering or the 325i active steering.. :D

I guess u will be facing the same problem if you were driving a Ferrari for a local supermarket grocery trip la.. :D :D

And those are the same reasons why the faster your drive your E90, the nicer and easier the feel is.. :D Probably the same when u riding a superbike and got stuck in the KL traffic with engine heat raising from between your legs onto your face.. :D Not a nice feeling hah!
