E90 Key Fob and Boot question

my experience today,when i park my car and then go out to open the boot by manually pull up,it doesn't want to open the boot while the engine still in running position.As a new with this car,i stop the engine then remove the key and then i open with the key fobs button.Finally it release open the boot.
Is that normal,boot can't open while engine on running position?
Please give me advice.Thank in advance.

You need all 4 doors UNLOCKED, not just the driver side only. You might have only unlocked the driver side door when you came out of the car leaving the rest of the doors and boot locked. Alternatively there is a boot release button near the driver side door. You can unlock the boot on the way out when you open the door.
