Hahahaha! Bsoosay's thead on oil totally hijacked! :D Astroboy, as the culprit of this interesting turn of events, why don't you start a new thread? But take off the 'miles per US gallon' or convert to imperial gallons lar. Only Americans, Puerto Ricans and Columbians think in US gallons.

kekekeeee... damage done... I'm outta here.. cabutz...

This FC thingy very yo-yo one la, and change with average speed.. only gives us a snap shot of FC for our recent commuting pattern, which tend to change from time to time. I'm not going to create a new thread for this man..

Looks like the 12.5L/100km is about the norm for E90 325i. That's all we need and has already established.

hehehehe...from engine oil talk to engine oil consumption talk then oil pump talk then oil evaporation talk then coolant thermodynamics lesson talk then back to engine oil talk for a while before this fuel consumption talk....

what an evolution of a thread...the best part all very informative one...lol

Hi All,

I took my car in to AB Segambut for a check-up. They checked to see if there were any oil leaks. None. They serviced the car and then told me to come back after 1000km. They want to check if there is a reduction of engine oil. They would like to check if the oil gauge unit is faulty or if the engine is a problem. If its the engine then they'll have to take the engine out and get some work done. Not sure what yet.

My car is 6 months old. Honestly, even my Toyota didn't do this to me.

That's why Toyota is not called "Sheer Driving Pleasure" ma.. "Low Maintenance Pleasure" perhaps.. so u need to set your preference right.

Toyota only need say 100 components to run an engine, BMW need 1000 components to run an engine. U have to look at the technology to appreciate it. Obviously the 1000 components engine more prone to failure lo. 10x the likeliness, mathematically.

Toyota engine can run without water until complete engine crack and only an overhaul job can revive the engine. It will not happen to BMW because the moment low water, engine ignition will terminate regardless on u being in the middle of a deserted highway so engine not harmed. More sensors, more wires, more controllers, all these itselves are vulnerable electronics. See the difference?

End of the day, whatever the FC. Still have to fill up the tank otherwise the car wont move.

Well said Astro Boy. use bicycle la, less mechanical parts and no sensors, easy to maintain. Agree ?

Hello, then we will be arguing about which bicycle to buy and maintain...The standard one few hundred only and then we have the BMW,Porsche,Merc versions which can go up to RM40,000 lo...and then the spare parts pulak damn expensive ....haiyoo...better stick to cars:party:

Can la, create a new thread...cos we are all Keh poh. just wanna know for FUN :listen:

True Astroboy....I agree with what you've said about the differences. Definitely, without a doubt the BMW is a Sheer Driving Pleasure. No second thought about that.

Yep,it is sheer driving pleasure.....at a price of course

.. sheer driving pleasure.....at a price PLUS a fair share of maintenance headache.. :stupid:

I don't know. I've had less maintenance issues with my E90, ie, NONE AT ALL in 2 years, compared with my present Merc and all previous cars including national makes. So I really don't know if that's true. I'm completely satisfied with my E90 in terms of performance, reliability and economy. :top:

Well, national makes, u at least don't spent RM1.8k on a piece of OEM size tyre, or RM1k for a replacement key, or RM2k on brake consumables every 60k km, valve cover leakage in 20k km, steering lock failure with a year, upholstery peeling within warranty period, RM100 to top up engine oil every few thousand km traveled, RM600 for the 2 radiator hoses plus temperature sensor as follows:

By the way, if u break our tiny crooked shape wishbone, it will cost u a brand new kancil, per piece, we have 4 pieces.. :D :D

Item 9: Tension strut with hydr. mount,
PN: 31 12 6 769 797(L)/31 12 6 769 798(R), €7978.00, US$11607.19

Item 14: Wishbone,
PN: 31 12 6 770 849(L)/31 12 6 770 850(R), €7456.00, US$10847.73

This following came out from my ex Perdana, including a lower arm, recond starter, a set of steering link ball joints, a steering link plus a set of new APM front absorber, all in for less than RM600..

But would a national car give you as much pleasure? :trytofly:

Nope.. :D :D :D If cars are drinks, then national car is water and BMW is.. :beerglass:

btw, they call it "Joy" now.. instead of pleasure..
