Painful but that's the price we pay. What was actually changed?

Valve cover seal is less than RM300.. I just bought my Avanza original valve cover oil seal.. only RM40.. will DIY soon.. also bought RM18 RTV gasket maker to sapu over it to prevent aging and cracking of the aged rubber gasket.. :4:

Didn't specifically ask. Valve cover, some other stuff to do with the cams, timing chain, etc... Took 1 whole day as apparently they had to take out quite a lot of stuff. Car had to spend the night there.

Hi alxy, I'm currently having this problem as well. The engine oil reading will fluctuate from max when your just started the car , and will rest at +1L when it is driven for 1 hour . Brought my car for under carriage check and found out a major leaking from the engine. Affected parts could be oil sump gasket, steering rack leakage and vacuum pump. Other than that like oil filter housing and valve cover is Ok. The work to replace the oil sump gasket is labour intensive. Need to leave the car overnight.

Oh ya....and replaced the engine oil too. So now I know I definitely have 4.5l of oil in there..... unless it's leaking again (touch wood!!!!) So I am back to 10,000km again till next service (before that was around 3,000km to go). So I guess I saved the money & hassle of a regular service too in a way.
