monarza, the place is bavarian auto parts sdn bhd, 28,jalan segambut, and yes these are the exact prices from the invoice's in have, dont forget a workshop has to charge more for these parts, this is over the counter prices.and are all german made, belts continental, oil filter marhle etc etc..
oh, the serpantine belt is the ribbed one that 'snakes' like a serpant around all of the pullys/fan at the front of your engine ;-)

well, marhle and continental supply BMW, these parts are made in germany, the oil filter comes complete with all seals and washers, marhle are the oem for bmw.
these are not generic 'no name' parts.
where do you buy your 70RM filters from by the way? are they in a bmw box or a marhle one? just interested.

the above link shows the real world prices of bmw oil filters, read it carefully, you will see mann/bosche and marhle all supply BMW as OEM contractors.
OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, ie, sub contractors who supply the factory, BMW use mann, bosche and marhle amongst others..... so, as long as the correct part number is used, you can purchase direct from the oil filter company at normal prices, or you can go to bmw 'stealership' and help them make more profit. simple.
the 3 companys mentioned are big names, id probably use mann if i had the choice, but made in germany marhle for 17rm local, is not bad.

ok, i just found this, im sure this will help people understand how parts are sold and packaged, oem,oes etc etc.... its written for a US audience, but it applies globally.

It all depends on how particular you are. It's all luck one la when you're using 2nd hand items bro. Mine is a E46 starter so it's definitely newer la and should last a bit longer but make sure the chopshop guy connects the starter to the battery. If the starter is in good condition you will see it spool up very fast and constant.
