Went up Genting - Still not happy wt the new rack performance, so went back to mech and he replaced a new one without any question, feels much tighter now... btw, this is the 4th rack in a month.. :stupid:

1. High Pressure Power Steering Hose - $95
2. Power Steering Fluid - $45
3. Bosch Super Plugs - $114
4. Front Stabilizer Bush - $110
5. Steering Rack (Warranty) - $0
6. Labour - $100

Total - $464

Note: Steering Coupling Faulty, tiny bit freeplay...

sach.. still pening on your stering rack? cannot tanni lagi la this month..

steering rack ok d under warranty... now coupling loose.. i see another $1K going out of my pocket next week...no tanni, go genting wanna double up for manual, but uncle lim no give me luck, instead gave away half a manual box to him... hehehe....

Hahahah... I have a spare 6 speed manual box if ur interested. Just changed mine. The LT-2 fluid is damn expensive.

Genting ? not enuff power ler.. feel damn slow up the hill, but still faster than many other cars, hehe. was playing wt new civic 2.o and e90 320, no problems overtakin although the speed was rather slow but the one car i couldnt keep up wt up hill was actually a myvi, must be a season driver to genting.. respect... my gf oso start to laugh at my car... KNN

9/8/09 - Coolant flush n change.

Labour: Free
- Owner supplied items.
- to flush and replace coolant fluid.
- to test drive happily after job done.

Parts:
- BMW original blue coolant RM38x2=RM76.
- Radiator drain plug (plastic screw in type. old one slight drip, when i took out found the thread part half broken)
RM52 from Bavarian auto ss2.
- Radiator expansion tank cap RM50.(2bar)
- Tesco distilled water. RM5.

TOTAL: RM183.00

p.s ~ Found the info to do the job in Peliacanparts.com, quite easy n straight forward. Hassle only during jacking n dejacking to access drain plug.

steering rack will set you back at least 1.5K for recond unit wt 6months warranty.. you can get one for 1/2 the price at a chop shop but no guaranteeeessss... cam shaft sensor(be extra carefull, got cap ayam brand in the market) should be in the 200+ range for a new ori one. alternator i got no idea, mine is still good..

Engine Mis-Fire....

im sure u guys are familiar wt the "bop bop bop" sound from exhaust as the rpm goes down after some rev at idle...

im having this bop bop, very minimal tho..no signs of power loss either... no black or white smoke....pening nie!

is this really a sign of mis fire? plug in diagnostics.. no errors on misfire in any of the 6 cylinders... changed new plugs too!

workshop suggestion? Do you know, how much for the new item?

there is a repair kit($300+) for ur existing rack.. i nevr done this, instead i got a refurbished one for 1.5K 6 month warranty but you got to give ur broken rack to them... brand new not sure, hard to find and very mahal, some say up to 5K..

i do it at my regular workshop.. about 1.7K+ including labour power steering fluid and some hoses...
