e36 parts & maintenance

On the way to work , temp sky rocketed till the warning light is red .
Off air cond & drive slowly into a petrol station .
Radiator konked - wafer leaked out from somewhere under the cap neck .
Believe this is much too common of a problem as it's plastic & easily
cracked . Lucky that my regular workshop is just 10 min drive .

Sorry , may sound like a dumb question .......
How did you know it need to be changed ? Did the car just stop as
no fuel goes into the engine like when fuel pump konked ?

The plastic top was leaking whenever I pumped full, search the forums (I think under General Tech) for "petrol smell in cabin". There is no fuel pump on the LHS unit.

oooucch ...i feel your pain bro - but then again no pain no gain .btw , i did change the outer door handle rubber last year . This is the rectangle rubberry thingy that goes around the handle , right ? It's about RM50 for the whole set - 4 pcs . Maybe you want to double check with the workshop on that .but your spot light is cheap - i got mine for RM100 - just for 1 side only - somemore from chopshop - looks like i am the one who kena chop !

Is spotlights = fog lamps? RM41.44 - That's cheap alright.

Interesting price difference on the door handle rubber, been meaning to change mine soon...

problem: samething happen again. afer changing valve host 2 days ago, the main valve leak. rough idling up and down. funny weird whistling sound from engine bay.

repaired today at New Age , Ipoh .

for past few days , the car a bit sluggish at traffic light . Engine like want to die ( but did not die ) .

changed the ground cable at alternator ( RM35 )
clean idling throttle ( RM10 )

drove around town for 1 hr . so far so good .
