Can try also check a parts price at bavarian auto, just to compare. so far from my survey, bavarian auto a little bit cheaperst than stuttgurt. becoz sometime i have buy a part at spare part shop and DIY.

can air flow meter for e36 318i be repaired. if so, where???/

yo... the airflow meter can be repaired and it cost only very little. It depend on how u drive it. I'd suggest u to change a new one becoz u can get peace of mind. i changed a new one in 06/2004 till now, soon-soon tip-top condition... it's a BOSCH, made in germany, rm1500.

can anyone let tell me what's the different of the engine between e36 coupe & e36 IS? timing belt or timing chain?

jayfactor, what happen to ur airflow...?? ur car humming right..?? i faced same problem last week but it got worse, initially the car humming, rpm goes up and down then the engine just dead. the engine failed to start after that. i just diy my air flow then my babe alive and kickin' again. what u do just take the airflow out then u can see the butterfly valve inside. at this point most probably ur butterfly valve is in it max open position which by right it should fully closed. so, what u do, just take a spray can of chain lubricant then spray to the clips which hold the valve then u just open and close the valve manually, using ur screw driver also can. keep on lubricate the valve until it smoothly close when u push it open. remember it should be at the full close position at all time when ur engine is not running. happy trying.

To reconnect wiring (rat attack!) and change spark plugs, RM60

Tax: RM21.90

Total: RM979.90

more to come... rat damage not fully repaired yet, and valve cover gasket needs changing

Just for my knowledge, why would a old car like e36 required fully sythetic oil, i tot it's only for new car?
