the cost is rm50 per side inclusive alignment too..!!

pls helppppppppppp.. tolonggggg
Let me get this straight.

You're driving an e46 year 2004.

You have a problem that costs 50 bucks each side to fix.

And you want help... with what?

Pay the 100 bucks, and stop occupying the bandwidth. Duh. :)

If only all problems w udms were fixable for 100 bucks...

i thinks jsen is reffering to coupling thingy , asking for opinion onli not the money side .

and the sterring rack is leaking also ,so he is confused donno what to do ....

one more thing , driving e 46 and a e36 does not means have to spend money like there is no tomorrow , have to budget also mah

im referrin to the couplin inside la.. i rather kena f*** here for posting silly Q then getting slaughter outside..! if 50 bucks can fix all these, do u think im still complaining?

n im postin in the e36 maintenance thread, do u think i dunno how to differntiate between an e46 n e36.. obviously. im askin regardign an e36 la.. !bout the bandwith, how much do u think im occupying? sigh..

hi, jsen. since the steering rack oil leak can be solve for just 100 bucks... pls do it fast. or not, this small problems will lead u to a bigger 1. by the way, my steering rack has a oil leak problems during the past 1 years.... i needed to top up the fluid every month.at last,it cause me to change a recond rack last month. total cost RM1300++

I think if you start a new thread, ask your question CLEARLY, ADD AN ARROW pointing to what you are referring to, and what's your doubt, you might get more relevant eyeballs and possibly some useful answers.

This thread is for COST OF MAINTAINING AN E36, not I GOT THIS PROBLEM W MY E36 AND I NEED ADVICE....

Mainly, two types of people read/post in this thread.

People who have just serviced their e36 and want to update the post w their cost.

Or people or newbie who want to check the latest cost of some parts they are not familiar with.

So, am not surprised you did not get any advice. You did not address it in the correct place. By the way, if that was your steering rack leaking, shyang_my is right, get it serviced/changed/rebuilt, it's on the way out.

And since you do not trust the word of your mechanic, and think he's trying to 'slaughter' you for 100 bucks, check out the LIST OF WORKSHOP WE GO TO thread for alternatives. Your mechanic saw the problem w his own eyes. We are looking at some grainy mobile phone shots, trying to guess what you mean by the unspecified 'middle thingy'. Any opinion would be as murky as your photos.

Now do you see why no response?

Had this problem last week, my fuel gauge was not showing any reading and the needle was just showing empty (luckily I kept a log of my mileage everytime I fuel up). Anyway, had it rectified and didn't have to change the fuel pump

Cost: RM20
Workshop: Subang

Great to hear that.

See, when you say 'tie rod', I know exactly what you mean, and can comment constructively, as opposed to 'coupling thingy', etc.

The tie rod is incredibly strong and won't be affected by a bit of sand, or even rust. So, no worries there. After cleaning, the mechanic should cable-tie the rubber cover back.

Sorry to be slightly off topic.

Back to the thread.

- Mtech spring sets for 6 cyl - RM1100
- Alignment, balancing, nitrogen for the rubbers - RM79 (discount, AAM member)

Need to get headlight switch this weekend. Mine's cracked and causing the lights to go haywire and the instrument cluster ringing.

Took the car for a run last night.

Felt the rear bounce all over the place.

Damn! Don't tell me something's wrong w the rear suspension! Just put in new shocks, thousand plus. Started to see $$$signs fly out of my wallet.

Today in the daylight, saw the rear slightly flat.

Took it to Kee Hin, Jln Klang Lama, and Ming found a rusty screw right in the center of the rear right tire.

That explains the bouncing rear.

Patched it up, rebalanced the wheel, topped up the nitrogen in all four tires, and I was golden again.

Minimal charges (less than RM50) from Ming.... great stuff!
