e36 parts & maintenance

as usual my 45 days routine for oil change

Nasa GD11 - Rm 70
Nasa engine oil treatment - Rm 30

Rest cleaning air filter , throttle body , check on plugs and wash the entire engine bay --- FOC.

Feedback --- my engine oil was not even black in colour. Hardly clocked about 1K millage.

Good ah you! :lol: Banyak sayang your car. I can only afford a 90 day engine oil + oil filter change. That's like 5000 km already.Sigh.Might have to increase the numbers of days.........han cheng bo ho ah. :cry:

BTW, mild7, your 3/6/2005 a/c repair bill is just RM80 more than what I paid for the exact same work.

Hand Brake Shoe (Lamforder, Change b'cos crack) - RM81

Rear Shock Absorber Mounting x 2 - RM68
Labour - FOC (DIY)


Feel good, no more tuk tuk sound from rear.

The microfilter at RM45 is cheap. Where is the mech? Can PM me?

my turn.

After my recent SG trip and got parts there, it's installation time today.

Here goes:
Crankshaft position sensor SGD95
Air flow meter SGD430
M-tech door moulding set SGD290
Labor, errr.. cheap cheap.

I also bought the rubber door strips and window channels for all four doors. Will be installed once I have time and money for a new coat of paint for my ride.

After changing the air flow meter, the car feels very responsive. I keep running out of roads to whack.

My friends at the Royal Customs and Excise of Johor would like to know how on earth did you manage to get these parts into M'sia in the first place ...

You want roads to whack ... make another trip to JB la. Got almost 340 kms of toll highway for you to lepas geram .... Ahahahaha ! But good prices on those parts ... all bought from Eng Soon, I believe ?

How much for the weather strips and channels?

Check out First Divison, OrtoJaya, Bavarian Auto etc. .... they sell re-con ones from Germany (I heard) with 6 months warranty. Or check out chop shops for used ones with 1-week warranty. PM me if you want some numbers to call.

Just replaced the 2 engine mountings on my e36, which has never been changed for last 9 years. Feels a world of difference now. The engine feels exceptionally smooth especially when starting ..... no more shudder ...

Cost RM190 a piece plus RM50 labor at Sam's.
Tip : If you buy the part from BA or OrtoJaya etc., it's only about RM125.

ahhhaaa seems like SAM is getting higher on it's price these days ....
