leaking and also some jerkiness. Rather than wait for the gbox telltale light to appear, I decided to go for it since I'll be heading down to SG next weekend.

Found out some water got into the gearbox too. Likely from the engine bay, seeping through the already worn out flywheel metal gasket. My mileage is low (124k kms) but the gbox is already 10 years old. About time. Now, it's run-in time!!!

Ouch... but at least you spent less than what I did on my newbie. Giving my newbie a complete makeover - mechanically first then cosmetically. Real itchy....

Saw your car on the hoist when I was last at the mech. So is the gearbox real smooth?

Gonna need to change the solenoids, filter and ATF on my gearbox too. Nothing major wrong really but the upchanges from 1 to 2 to 3 can be slightly jerky at times. Upchanges from 3 to 4 to 5 and downchanges are still smooth though.

Affan i saw ur Bill at m-speed yesterday

i did change my ABS pump and brake pad
1) Abs Pump Rm480
2) Brake Pad + labour Rm250

Total Rm730

zeneger,
haahaha.. the car feels better today. I think I need to run-in the gearbox carefully for 10k kms and then flush the gearbox.

The car is very quiet now and shifting is very smooth except at slow speeds from gear 1 to 2. Could be a minor issue which requires a slight re-alignment of the gear switch.

Just curious, did you have any symptoms of gear slippage during hard upshifts before you re-built your g/b? In particular during gear change 2 to 3.

Woi, but part of it is for my ex-Babe. Anyway, I could live with my Newbie as it is for a few months but then again, when I started changing parts, might as well do the whole hog. Next, am thinking of changing the rubber hoses of the brake, fuel and autobox oil cooler hoses.

After that, there is nothing much else to do, would have already addressed all the wear and tear items. Then, yahoo, can go ahead with the upgrades.
