Hey guys, sorry that I didn't manage to come along even though I wanted too.. I had taken ill last weekend with fever and flu ... makan porridge all weekend .. ugh!

Quite dissappointed as I wanted to get some taxi rides ...

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO WRITE ABOUT THIS EVENT FOR THE NEXT ISSUE OF THE NEWSLETTER!!(hint.. hint ... might a certain young, dashing finance chappie driving an e46 wanna volunteer? :nyehehe: )

I'm glad that you had fun. Actually track day is a lot more fun than thrashing your car. Hope that the next track day, can get more people on the track.


I'm hoping to organise another one in July. Maybe if we can do it just before the Annual Dinner those from the North & South can participate also.

yup it was fun...

and nope, i did not thrash my baby... else it would not have lasted 25 laps....

but i did enjoy gradually pushing the envelope of the handling... got to know my car like never before....

now, i have a new appreciation for my antiroll bars, my eibach springs, my bilstein shocks, my jurid brake pads, my rebuilt gearbox (which performed remarkably....)

Time to buy some slicks for the next track day. You will be surprised what a big difference tyres can makem when you are driving on the limits.

overall i had three runs throughout the 3 hours...each run is abt 4 to 5 laps.
there is a few scary moment when i was driving

1. on my 2nd run while i am approaching c5 heard a loud exhaust noise from the rear..look at the rear mirror...but there weren't any cars..then suddenly a lotus 340R went pass me while i am taking the corner...darn the car is just too low!!

2. when i was taking the last hairpin corner (the corner that webber n ville crash out)...a subaru was trailing behind me..i had the racing line when i went into the corner ..then the subaru decided to squeeze me from the inner lane...n i can hear his tyre were screeching...luckily he never lose control if not i will be stuck on the gravel!!

overall the dc5 n subaru are one league above the rest of us cos they are the regulars on the track...had a short run with necc's m3 n alvin's m3 on the straight

i never really race with any cars out there cos i am driving within my limit...wanted to test my car against fiat n alfa but no chance cos i will only go to the track when there are less cars....nvm there are always next time!!

marco, hehehe yah i was looking to test with more bimmers, too, but ur pit too far away la. dunno when u all going out.

WJ, darn good idea to get Ron to drive ur car. i think i'll get him to give mine a go the next trackday if he's there. im sure i can pick up a few pointers from the Sifu.

lee36328, i think ur tires wore like that cos they were too hard and are being scrubbed off. if u were only getting that on the edges then u were on the wrong tire pressure. my falkens have a soft compound and they wore smoothly, tho the wear was quite high.

I was very impressed by the array of Fiat Coupe turbos at the italiaauto camp. Their classic look is very appealing even tho they've been around and I have driven one a couple of years ago from Subang to Klang on NKVE and liked it lots. Thinking of getting one to be more active for track days. I still remember 4-5 years ago, they were only going for RM150K (I think... can't really remember).

Can anyone here comment on your runs with 'em during the track day? I had the pleasure of being taxi-ed by Redd and the sound of the engine was sheer entertainment!!
