the biggest strength of the coops are the brakes. even a stock coop without any mods will outbrake most cars out there, including a Type-R. we had a modded coop (with the mintex stickers) who apparently gave the DC5 'Tegs a run for their money during trackday. the driver of that coop is no slouch either. he braked so hard he blew a stainless steel brake hose, had it repaired in the pit, and was out again within 30 mins blowing away more cars.

but personally, a coop is too tall geared for sepang. ideally u want a car that will hit the revlimit of the last gear at the end of the straight just before Turn 1. that usually means shorter geared japanese cars - like civics/'tegs with close-ratio 'boxes - or trackday specials like the elise or 340R. if i was getting a pure trackday car, and didn't want to get a jap, i'd prolly get an elise.

or take WJ's GTV2000, mod the crap out of it, and mow down modern sportscars with a 30-yr old classic! :D

Me no scared. Only that I am a "jailbird" for the months of July and August. Me "junior" is expected sometime in July. No hanky-panky for one month after that.

Hmmmm, wonder if a Wira modded with 4G63 turbo engine can give the JDMs a run for their money???? :dunno:

Thanks Redd... I'm contemplating a pure track car and forget about changing my E46 for a few years. Toying between a recond Fiat Coupe 20v turbo (so I can join your forum too) or a DC5. I thot of having a turbo-ed car for a change.

C'mon, Flash Gordon.....

am sure ur Turbo Wira will do well....

anyway, it's not just the car... it's the driver...! show us what u got....

if the car was a girl, and u haven't taken her to the tracks, then i wud say in terms of ur relationship w ur car, so far u've only exchanged some innocent kisses w her...

Taking her to the track for 3 hours is like having mind-blowing physical relationship with her covering every valve of every cylinder on her, stressing every inch of her struts bars, pushing her suspension and her bushes to the point of failure, scrubbing her brake discs until it glows with the heat, from midnight until 6 am in the morning, falling asleep when u can't take it anymore, then waking up to some nice air intake suction from her air filter, and going at it again until you almost faint from the sheer exhaustion.... then grinning from ear to ear for the rest of the week... (NOW i know why i spend so much money on my car...)

Now... aren't u sorry u missed TD? are u sure u want to miss the next one? he he he....

Lee

Well said. All i can say is i love the sound of my engine roaring & the induction sound as i drive down the straights. SHIOK!

Maybe we should 'orgynize' another drive soon? Maybe to Cameron Highlands?

BTW, the support group that you seek is 'E30 owners anonymous'..... :D

Ehhh, I do that 10% of the time when I am on the road. That is how I know I need a lot prep-work on my babe so that I can really enjoy my track time.

Yes, yes, stop rubbing salt into my wound... :(

Anyway, on Saturday, found that I may need to service my Titans. Suddenly found my babe to be "bouncing" on Kesas, when it did not do that previously. :(
