Sis met an accident today heading north on PLUS, near Lembah Beringin on her 318is. Front badly damaged. Car spun likely caused by flat tire or aquaplan which caused the car to go sideways first. Hit middle divider at 110km/h She's okay with some minor whiplash. Car now at workshop. Pity her. Just serviced the car yesterday at M-speed. Niki... the car looks so bad. Sis feels so devastated but told her she was lucky she was in a BMW as she got out without a scratch.I can feel her pain but I feel so relieved to see she's okay. :(

wau hit divider at 110kmh!!!luckily she is in BMW not kancil, sawi or proton.

Yup lucky BMW. Merc also can tahan. If local car not sure what would have happened. Thats why you buy a car as solid as a beemer - with all the airbags and all... Wish a speedy recovery to both.

Omg!!

OMG...i just met u people last nite.....thank god she's ok

BMWs aplenty, unlike our life

glad that she's ok... Sometimes could be due to running water on the road, been there, but came out untouched. My experience was on way out of subang joining Fed Hiway, near the Y-fork to Glenmarie. I was on the right lane starting to take the right sweeper toward the Fed Hiway. the rear suddenly start to shift left towards the left lane. counter steered and caught the tail but then it started to wag to the right closing in on the road barrier. Counter steered again and managed to straighten the car and drive one without incident, shaken but not stirred. It's a lucky escape as there were cars on the left lane. If I had not kept the car within my lane or spun there, it would have been a pile up aledi. I wasn't travelling that fast but the running water on the road did the trick. I guess those sessions in the go kart did help me to be alert behind the wheels, as counter steering is one of the often-used skills when go-karting.

Looks like u got to send her for advanced driving course next ;) ... I'm sure accidents of this type can be prevented if the driver knows how to react accordingly in situations like this (like i did). However, most don't see the value in participating in courses like this. Number 1 excuse being the cost.
We did try to get ppl to take part in an advanced driving course last year, response was good initially but no-show-rate was high towards the end... But everyone including the 2 lady drivers enjoyed the afternoon in the basking sun.

glad she's ok......yup, cars can be replaced - not lives.

hope she knew what she could have done better to prevent a similar accident in future - which could have been tyre conditions, speed in relation to road conditions, recovery techniques etc. Accidents are expensive and an inconvenience, so learn from it.

Fab, close call but ur speedy reaction save ur day.....

Yup, investing in Advance Driving Course is a wise idea...read again - NOT RACING course.

the tire went flat for no reason before the spin. She said she hit the lorry tire debris.

She's still traumatised and extremely sad. Can feel how she feels. Just serviced the car the day before. She's a careful driver.

Shaifulo, this is my other sister not the one you met that night.
The private tow trucks and vultures were swarming that place so I think they were responsible in some way. The PLUS people said it is likely. The stretch is near a workshop/tow truck syndicate located in Tg Malim/Bernam.

Will inform my sis about advanced driving course. She had participated in a similar course I think but nothing stops further education and awareness.

bro, sorry to hear tht. bring back me mories with my e30 few years ago.
wut kinna tyres was fitted? tyres normally do not go flat st8 out. mebbe it went flat after skidding for a while... anyway fast recovery to u and her....

she's using Yoko's all fours.
Waiting for phone call from mech to assess damage.

My observation - the front bumper absorbers is pointed 90 degrees to the right. radiator gone, front nose, leaking power steering rack, front body panels gone.

Wonder if this fixable. :( :(

hope the vultures tow truck operators were not cause of the flat tyres....so pls check that ok! for punctures. I heard horror stories of them pouring oil before but not on NKVE.....on Ulu Yam stretches! Let them Rot in HEll IF they do that!

Look at the bright side... your sis is ok. Car might still be fixable... Malaysia Boleh mar. Got any pics? Where is the car now?

she took pics.
Car ? tempat biasa la flash...

she's going to hospi today. Slight strain on her back (whiplash). and bluish on her toes

Thank God she's ok. At the end of the day, that's all that matters! As regards the car, maybe RFTs for her! I think the hard ride is worth the extra safety. Having first hand experience with a high speed blowout, it takes a lot of will power to not slam on the brakes!

Pkw88,

why the blowout on your ride?

Reminds me of the tragic accident recently with the Indian chap n wife rushing to KLIA.....in a Rexton just recently! scary.....but again check ur tyres often!
