The F30 and new BMWs do not come with service booklet. Not sure when this started or stopped I should say. Everything is stored on their database. I suppose you can ask them to give you a print out for your own reference.

BTW I don;t think the purse is made of leather, looks like PVC to me. I have not even opened the manual as I have the .pdf version that I access through the iPad/notebook/iPhone and its also on your iDrive.

Jason

Thanks. But my SA told me that she will send the service booklet through courier. Until now, I still don't get it. Crappy SA! :banghead:

As we all know car salesmen/women have a stereotyped in a very negative manner. This thread show that the bad ones can even come to represent premium brands. Knowing of this stereotype, I guess it is incumbent on each of us to access their sales person's intentions before throwing your hard earned cash at them. And if you do throw your cash at them despite their ill intentions, you are basically send the signal that its ok for them to continue behave like that.

If the sales person is a chameleon and only changes colour after the transactions has been sealed, then raise up a stink. Raise it up to the highest level of the company. Once the CEO hears of it, I am sure you will get the attention you deserve.

Jason

Jason ... tried that ... no avail. You get the standard "I understand your frustration" reply. LOL!

Pls do let me know if you get a service booklet. My SA says no booklet. And I double checked the owners manual and found this on pg 78.

So the service history is actually stored in the car's iDrive. Not sure what happens if and when we eventually send the car to external service centers. I supposed you'd still need a service booklet.

I got a couple of additional screws and nuts in the leather pouch :x

I just recently purchased one. I visited 4 dealers, and initially settled with Quill, paid a booking fee and initiated loan process. SA and I agreed on some issues, and few days later get a call from SA saying some things cannot be done. I wouldn't have anything of it, cancelled my purchase and went elsewhere.

Troublesome, Yes. Satisfied towards the end with a better SA? Yes. Worth it? You bet.

Regards,
-HypoG.

P.S. I do not mean any offence, to each his own I guess, just trying to fathom why people are having trouble.

Yep, learnt my lesson here. +1 wisdom in buying cars now :p

I believe all these inconsistencies reflect on the bad habit of a typical undisciplined malaysian possesses which transfers to whatever they touch or handle....JPJ service-Terrible!!SA @ AB Sg besi-shud be sacked!!Kulim Plant/Assembly/Transporters/Handlers-Probably worked @ chic rice stall!!The "Other SA" who cant attend to ur issues-Shud be a prod. operator at kilang kicap!!Morale is wrong individuals r employed within a German based company!!Quality of final deliverables r soooo poor,an unlikely reflection of the grandeur of German standards!!Y the hell r these scrupulous Malaysians screwing up such a prestiogiously consistent global brand??Turning the BMW into Proton n Perodua izzit?Or maybe ex-proton/perodua staffs @ BMWs AB to sabotage clients n brand reliability n reputation!!I feel for ur horrific odyssey!!sorry to hear such nonsense happened or allowed to happen!!

Yes, totally agree with you here. I believe the problem starts right from the top of the management which causes problems like this. The "don't care, it's not my job" attitude in most after sales service here in Malaysia.

Unlike their competitors, I don't think BMW ever sends out customer satisfaction survey for their sales and service evaluation. They can easily weed out all the monsters and demons on their payroll with properly conducted surveys.

Strange, after the purchase BMW actually called me up for their sales and service evaluation :p

Yes they do. I received a phone call from BMW Voice on a survey regarding my purchase of the F30.

how could a brand new car have rust issues..should ask them to replace with a different car, not paint over it..!!!

Once the rust starts .............

markx85, once more i'm sorry about what you're going thru. i am wondering if you won't mind sharing photos of the rusted spot, for our benefit. i may have overlooked it myself.

A week later, I sent the car for a car wash, and the boss of the car wash noticed that there's a large patch of rust at the rear window at the C-Pillar i think? Not sure what's that called. It wasn't very visible but it's bad because it was all rusty.

Sorry to hear your troubles. Rust on a new car is totally unacceptable IMHO. Anyway, I've sent a link to this thread to a friend in BMW Malaysia... hope he can help out...
