Here is my experience with Auto Bavaria so far.

I damned my car around 10 of Oct 2014, after few months getting my new car from Auto Bavaria, KL. Due to some crazy driver on-the-road, I hit the divider of the road, my car got serious sketched, as picture shown below. And that car just leave on sight. So, what to do? My bad luck, I called my Sales Advisor to mentioned him about this accident, and ask him to advice me on this case. As I bought new insurance for this car, didn't transfer from my old car, no NCB. I decided to claim insurance. After I filed a report at the Traffic Department, I drove my car to Auto Bavaria, Johor Bahru. The Advisor there apparently already know about my case, she photocopied every necessary documents, ask me to signed and explain some policy being covered. Things done, time to inspect the car, she went over with her camera to snap pictures where is damned. Suddenly she found out on the right hand side of the car, which near to the fuel tank hole, got a quite serious spot, as she told me, if I would like to change this part of my car, I will need to send my car to Glenmarie, as JB branch don't have such facilities to fix this part. To tow my car to KL I need to pay roughly 1.2k per trip, which the insurance doesn't cover more than 80KM of towing. Alternatively, they can use some machine to just fix it, maybe it might not looks good better to change it as she mentioned. In my mind, I hope this accident will not cause an eternally damaged that might affect my 2nd hand price as I planned to change my car after few years time from now. Furthermore, I don't wanna just pay the extra minimum 2.4k from this accident. In the end, i decided to drive myself to KL to fix it, as the functionality of the car is fine.

On the 19 of Oct, finally I send my car to KL for fix. As the Sales advisor promised around 1 month time it will be done. So, i dated 20 of Nov, i could get back my car. Times flights, throughout the month, I did call to check on the status, and each time it is "in progress". Up till the promise date, my car, still in queue. I get really frustrated, as I'm a person who see promises no mater verbal or non-verbal seriously. After few follow up calls after the promise date, finally some new personnel involved in this matter. A guy claimed himself as the "Technical Advisor" who will monitor the progress of my car, and it is finally in the progress of fixing, that is on 1st week of Dec already. This time, I followed up closely, I request him to report me with the status every two days, else me myself will give him a call. This time things changed. From the delaying of fixing, I get to know from this "Technical Advisor" if changing this part of the car will need to send to Puspakom to investigate and under my car title will label with "departed" car, now it is up to me to make the decision again to use the alternative way which provided previously by the Advisor in JB. Of course, minimum my damaged it is already in my mind, use whatever method, just get my car fixed and things back to normal. After few more weeks, finally on 20 of Dec, I'm more than happy to received a call saying my car is ready to claim back.

The moral of the story, I learned that with little knowledge on the car stuff, really bring headaches, and hassle. If I would know actually things would be like that way, I can just send my car to JB branch, and get it done maybe before mid of Nov. Further, i felt something fishy happening around, Why the advisor quite insist me to tow my car all the way from JB to KL just to get fix? Why I reported my car need to be fix, yet in queue for such a long period? And the mileage when I get back my car, it added around 200km? It is things unsolved. However, my personal advise, avoid getting involved in any accident, drive safe and drive smart it is the Most Important Thing.

A little apologise if my story writing skill not bringing any excitement to readers. haha;) Please forgive me.
Last but not least, Happy Driving, and Have a Blast all CM in 2015.

Best Regards.

Correct me if I'm wrong all sifus, but the "Serious Spot" near the petrol tank cover are the dents themselves. This is because that area is the car's chassis itself, it can't be substituted like a fender or bumper, but I've honestly never heard the need to go for Puspakom check for such a light accident which the Airbag wasn't deployed. Maybe it's because some Chassis work has been done therefore there's some regulation that necessitate the puspakom check?

The facilities in Glenmarie probably have the capability to push the dents out and reform the chassis properly, 'cause that area is hard to gain access to maybe? In any case, I think your alternative method is to put some patty, sand, paint and polish. Either way won't affect the functionality of your car, and should be fine as its original BMW paint...

This will be my question as well Bro, seriously I got quite limited knowledge on car. Seek guidance from all sifu here.
Thank you.

That is why they are called "Stealerships" rather than "Dealerships". By looking at the picture you posted on that scratch on the rear quater panel is no where near the chassis and I realy do not know why there is a requirement to send for Puspakom inspection.
All the damages that you postes are aesthetic and non-mechanical plus you are not changing the color.

Load of crap these Stealerships unload onto the customers are mind-boggling.

Sorry to hear you predicument really.

eric, when you drive your car from JB to KL with the scratches on the fenders, did you feel any difference in the handling?

If there is none, then the chassis is intact.

yeah, if you have to replace the body side, it will involve cutting it and reweld the new piece. From the look of the picture, a few knock here and there will be good enough.

refer to below.

Doesn't look like the chassis is the reason... She might have thought that the rear quarter panel needs to be replaced, and the only way is to cut that piece off and weld a new part. Because it is a cut to the C pillar and the lower part of the door sill, it needs to be certified by Puspakom. If possible get them to knock it back rather than replace the panel... It will affect car resale due to the "note" by Puspakom on the car registration card.

Actually, can anyone in the insurance industry confirm what I think it is?

I really would like to say that the damage are superficial and structure integrity is not compromised whatsoever.
The car was bought new. Then kena bang.Heartache.If I osso, heartache and I would want my baby to be fixed as good as new or even better than new.

If the car is 5 years old and out of warranty I am sure anybody would have just send it in to any bodyshop to have it repaired and repainted and done with.Right?
Forget about cutting panels or changing new ones. From the pics, the damage is cosmetic. To have it repaired good, find out the best body shop, have it repaired and call it a day.

Just my 2 poh sen.....

just get it repaired. a good shop will be able to do it and you wont see the difference if done very well.
