Speed Cameras

Hi all,

Just got a summon which offence took place at Jalan Kuching route towards Selayang at Km 26 (Dunno where). Time was around 6.00 pm. Should be from the roundabout of Jalan Duta till Jalan Kepong. Dunno what is the speed limit there.

Apart from Klang valley, got 2 summons at Ipoh. Its along Jalan Kuala Kangsar KM 15.1, should be around the Tasik Industrial area heading towards Ipoh. Time 9am and 11 am...Speed limit is 80km/h...

Beware guys...

Jalan Kuching speed trap would be about 500-750 meters before the Batu Caves roundabout heading towards Selayang. I saw the guy sitting under the tree on the left but too late and I was doing 115kmh. I think the speed limit was 80 or 90kmh.


Got stopped under the Batu Caves roundabout (MRR2) and got a summon which I haven't paid yet.

Do you have any idea where is the offence took place? Where is this KM 4.3 Penchala huh?

The guy sits directly under the Ingress Auto BMW signboard as you come out from the tunnel. You can see him shooting right after the tunnel, sitting in front of the flyover column. He'll be there at noon most days.

Got one there as well, normally there will be a road block under the next flyover.

Sometime they shifting upward sitting on the overhead bridge (towards the tunnel from Mutiara Damansara / Damansara Perdana. I also kena once.....

had 1 saman during the CNY holiday on a saturday around 950 am. It was along the NKVE heading towards the Duta toll from Klang. If not mistaken KM11 or 15 ....the big signboard like a WAU shape. Speed limit 90 and i got caught for doing 98 kmh........and another trap just beneath the sg buloh over heard rest stop bridge..... all this trap didnt see any Police but just cameras.....Cheers!!

yup, and plenty of them along NS highway. i spotted several locations so far. check my previous post.

The ones under the flyovers are NOT speed cameras. Those are traffic monitoring cameras by PLUS.

Malaysia has not adopted fixed speed cameras yet although it was planned.

i see. but i still don't dare to speed when passing those locations.

i got my first speed ticked in 2007. since then i'd slow down when reaching those camera locations. as a result i receive no more tickets after the 1st one. that what creates my assumption.

Any insider news when they would be implemented?

There were planned and the tender nearly awarded in 2010. But some people complained and it was held back. Not sure if they were still in the pipeline though.

Google 'Malaysia fixed speed camera' and you'll see some articles by Malaysian Insider.

On another note, a few authorities in the UK has removed their fixed cameras as it does not achieve their goals and just creates problems to the authorities.

i got my radar made in china for only Rm250. Speaks in mandarin though...so when it starts to scream in chinese, i slow down. : )

speed trap at kesas from Bukit Tinggi under bridge just before turning to Kota Kemuning. Speed i think 80 or 90. I kena big time as i was doing 217kph.

Maybe at times, it was screaming "all clear, full speed ahead" but you slowed down. :4:

Hahaha.....yeah I dunno d wht d h is she svreaming about. Friend got it frm china. Its easy to get there, even taxis have it. I guess its a few km before d radar? Im mt sure. So far selamat.

No matter how many speed trap location i hear newly .. the bloody 'Kuala Kangsar' is always in my saman list . Recently kena again , saman list is growing again and again . !@#$%^&*

Indeed yes.. i re-checked all my saman and non is at night.. The latest time is around 6 pm . The rest is daytime .
