Trapster is a realtime traffic info sharing app among iphone users. You can state whether there's an accident or roadblock at a specific location at that point of time and other Trapster users will receive info about it. Quite useful BUT you must switch on your app all the time for it to be truly useful.

Makan battery......

Had a chance to check out trapster. Quite a good resource.
Funny to see a mention of a speeed camera located on Jalan Tun Razak at the pekililing flats opposite PWTC! I think it is wrong, maybe a observation camera. That stretch is a parking lot! How could you ever speed there, it is continuallly jammed! I nearly rear ended a stationary car stuck in traffic just after the bend from bukit tunku to PWTC there. I was as white as my car when i slammed on the brakes!

A compilation of everyone's input would be great but difficult without specific locations.
I noted the km197 and km397 because i did not see where they were hiding but instead saw the actual road blocks.
Obviously they were at km196 and km396 as laser guns cover 1km out.
Usually I am pretty alert to spotting them under flyovers and bypass but these two spots were a surprise to me.
Didnt even know or see where they were hiding!
Maybe you guys can note down the km tag also instead of near this town or near that rest area. that would help greatly on when to exactly slow down. Some websites show a ton of traps supposedly located here and there but are dubious. Really, on NKVE there are only a handful of locations. First it is because of jurisdiction, secondly there are only so many downhill straight stretches and thitrdly, there only so many straight stretches with hiding places like flyovers and bypass. Who knows, by month end we could have northbound highway tagged!

almost kena at DUKE yesterday. Luckily I eased off the pedal and managed to stay below 100. True enough, about 100 meters away from when I realised, Mr. MIB was waiting with the camera.

Roadblock ahead and got away scot free. Many got stopped and perhaps had to contribute towards nation's economy.... arghhh I hate these cameras.

Got a mail today..

Caught in speed camera while doing 133Kmh near Slim River/Padang on North South Hway.
Arrgh..my first speed cam so far.

Need to buy the radar detector when I have the chance.

Bro, when were you tagged? I've been travelling every weekend on the highways (KL/Pg/SP/Ipoh) for the past month and been checking myeg for summons - so far nothing yet. Think I'm giving my car a rest this weekend tho haha...

When there is only one radar gun and too many BMWs are speeding, the MIB cannot cope. Have to let go.....

I got one also in very early of Jan. Never send me a mail, when I notice it's already over the half price period.
The same day i kena another one on kesas, sigh... one journey 2 shots.

Where are they hiding actually in slim river? must be careful next time.

One of the trick that I found may work is, immediate lane change!
Of course, check your mirror first lah.

i drive frequently kl-penang-kl like every weekend which makes me able to memorize the speedtrap camera location. some of them are at flyovers near the hiway exits at sg buloh, tg malim, kuala kangsar, taiping south, gng semanggol. i usually try to maintain speed below 110kmh and change into left lane. and LoL alone to see other cars overtake me on the right. they don't know what's waiting for them ahead. hope this helps. hehe.

got 2 on the same day... kl - ipoh.. diwali time, usual spots tg malim - tapah

last month v-man got 2 within 30mins selayang - tg malim

last week, 10am road block at slim river, kena stop for 193kmh, we were 7 cars, all kena :)

hiway trips are getting expensive

bro huskar - so rule of thumb is still to drop below 110 at hiway intersections and keep on left lane - check! :)

bro sachseelan - need for speed doesnt come for free eh ;)

FYI - keep a lookout once u exit the penang bridge heading towards George Town, sometimes they be standing on the overhead bridge in plain sight 'shooting' at cars

Thats why I always do long range driving strictly at night only...whenever I had to drive in daytime, sure a saman or two would follow..

haywire, not sure if we are safe in the cover of darkness either. I've been informed by the parents that they have been receiving summon with picture of my car from the back at night - on the way to penang. Need to find that offense letter.

at least they now have picture to prove it :)

in fact u can see the speed cameras sticked on the flyover at locations i mentioned earlier. when i see those cameras i will grin and make 'peace' gesture towards them. most of the times my wife is next to me so we LoL at the cameras together.

speed trap cameras got trolled. hehe.

my latest summon received today from MYEG. Kena at Kuala Kangsar. I think their radars are really long range.

I'll be looking for Garmin maps with speed camera alerts. My Garmin map is just the normal type with no alerts.

Hi all,

Just got a summon which offence took place at Jalan Kuching route towards Selayang at Km 26 (Dunno where). Time was around 6.00 pm. Should be from the roundabout of Jalan Duta till Jalan Kepong. Dunno what is the speed limit there.

Apart from Klang valley, got 2 summons at Ipoh. Its along Jalan Kuala Kangsar KM 15.1, should be around the Tasik Industrial area heading towards Ipoh. Time 9am and 11 am...Speed limit is 80km/h...

Beware guys...

Those are not speed cameras. Its a traffic conditions camera. I have sped through most of them and never got any summon.

Fixed mounted speed cameras are planned by the government but not yet in force. If there are fixed speed cameras they will be big, similar to the ones at the junctions in KL.

You trolled the PLUS traffic controller bro hehe.
