Normal mode 1.8k - 4k rpm and dynamic mode 2.5k rpm to red line. Both modes no lag. Really impressive state of the art except the back seat is a bit uncomfortable.

u sure? i drive a mkv and audi a4 b8...i can tell u they run out of breath on the top end...its their small turbo causing this problem...

If I'm not mistaken, it's basically an A4 platform with compact SUV body and AWD drivetrain. So it can't beat a 325 after the initial turbo-driven spurt. Great design though. Thumbs up for Audi :top:

I'm driving a 325i e46 2004. Am planning to sell this car for a possible transfer at work. Experience: Awesome! It's a pussy-magnet, as BORAT may put it.LOL! Just kiddin' man, but like the sifus told u, if budget permits go for e90, if not, e46 is an excellent car to have. U will have fun doin' mods! Call me if you are interested, i'm letting go at RM125k. Josh-0193891631.

I think its a different engine and heard MTM can do remap to this ECU and push up from 211 to 270bhp. Its a quattro engine. This is what the owner claims. Haven't sat in the car at top end yet.
I don't really know much about Audi as i'm a BMW fan.

cheers

I believe the Q5 uses the same series of engines as the As. Quattro is an Audi trademark and refers to the drive system, a permanent four-wheel drive via a Torsen centre differential.

As I found out, VW uses an older generation engine compared to Audi. Even the MK6 GTi doesn't have the valve lift tech from the Q5 and makes much less torque (something like 280 vs 315 NM) compared to the 2 ltr unit in the Q5. Tranny is also 1 gen older, 6 sped for the MK6 GTi and 7 spd for the Q5.

I wonder if E46F still has Audi phobia after being gunned down by an S8 a few years ago, hehehe...

Well, hope this brightens your day..

The best of VW platforms have always been deployed in Audi. Maybe even more to come in future from the VW group with Porsche fully on board now :top: But like others, Audi have always been followers of BMW's lead. Let's face it, the X5 and X3 started this fast lux SUV genre.

hi all,
i am coming back to KL.
Sold my e90 323i highline in Spore. dont want to spend more than rm300k for my car, cause have to buy another ride for wife too.

Bro, if you can wait, then Q5 (9 months waiting period). If not, then GTI MK6 which will only be launched somewhere Nov and most probably can get car latest in Feb 2010. Want quick, then e90 325i or Scirocco. Forget abt the e60 525i..... too old man look la....

As usual just sharing my thoughts.

I have had my E36 325i for more than 2.5 yrs now. Was thinking of "upgrading" to a E46 325i when my wife sugested that I hold on for a couple of years and get a E90 325i.

Based on current prices the 2004 E46 325i can be had for RM130k vs 2005/06 E90 325i for RM180k. In a couple of years the E90 should go down to RM150k.(based on 10% pa depreciation)

On paper the difference is :-

H/P : 192 vs 218
Torque: 245@3500 vs 250@2750
Gearbox: 5 speed vs 6 speed

The magazines have all commended the E90 to being a much better car than the E46.

Anyone care to share their real life experiences with us.

That was my dilemma 3 years ago!

Finally chose e90.
