Hi Guys,Need your thoughts on which Authorsied Dealers to go for BSRI and in-Warranty claims? I need to send in my car (E90 LCI) for service but you may be able which SC is more experienced and who to look for at which dealer? My thoughts:1)Ingress Auto - I've heard a lot of good comments to send the car there as the SC and the Service Manager is rather experience. But which SC should I look for? This is for normal service.2)a- AB Glenmarie - I prefer Glenmarie as I live nearby but the I have to book 2weeks in advance and usually AB will take more than half a day for a normal service. Any inputs on which SC is good?b- AB KL (Jalan Tun Razak) - This I only need a week's notice or sometimes few days advance notice to make bookings but problem is I don't know any of their SC there? I heard some of them are from AB Segambut branch and some are new.3)Quill Automobiles - Their location is perfect as it is most convenient for me. But they can only do fast lane service (which is fine for now as I only need to do my normal service), but they are the new kid on the block. Do they have expereinced SC and technicians to handle the car and to diagnose (incase there are anything that copped up which needs to be diagnosed on that day i send in the car).In short, I'd prefer to speak to an experience SC (Service Consultant) that knows what he is talking about (rather than bullsh*&^%$g) and also technicians who are reasonably experienced to handle my car rather than fresh trainees using my car as their "guinea pig" on the job training mule, so to say..... Appreciate your feedback. Thanks heaps.

In my experiences with Ingress, they never fail to be on the top of things...

Talk to the service manager first and let him know what you want done. He will then assign someone to attend to your ride.

I do not have names, but is pays to visit them yourself. Hope this helps.

Do let us know your feedback...

I usually can get loaner/courtesy cars during service from AB Sg Besi, do any of the other service center provide that?

Have you ever gone to one location to get warranty service and then went on to another location since the first didn't fix it properly? AB has been helpful but they can be annoyingly slow as well.

I drive a E90 LCI as well. Go to AB Sg. Besi and look for Hairunizam Johari.

I had a bad experience at AB Tun Razak. The not only wash the car after service but left scratch marks on the car rims, damm!!

Hi Bro,

Dont go to Glenmarrie. Their service is extremely inefficient, they have too many cars to handle, and I doubt their consultants are really capable. You can read my experience in another thread I wrote "BMW 320i warm engine start problem". Everytime I went there I had to wait almost 1 hour just to talk to the consultant, and upon car collection I always had to wait 30 minutes - waiting for someone driving my car out of the service area. Totally ridiculuous. I sent my car to Segambut and even though they are friendly I am not sure they are also very good technicians..

Thanks guys for your feedback and advise, really appreciate it. What about Quill Automobiles at PJ section14? Anyone has good/bad experience you can share? Thanks so much :)

Oh really? That's nice. I tried requesting for courtesy car from AB KL but they say they don't have and usually they only provide to those who dies major non-BSRi repairs, so they claim.

I will try Quill Automobiles since they are in PJ.

@Gameover
Only fastlane service can be done in PJ. The rest have to send to Puchong.

Oh one more thing doc, which SC to talk to? Or do I should I talk to the service manager? What's his name bytheway? Thx.

I sent mine for brake fluid replacement @ Quill SC, Puchong and experience is ok. Consultant is OK but the place is comfortable. But service time is quite long just for a brake fluid change. waited half a day.

Sent the next time for oil change @ Ingress SC, consultant very friendly. Service is up to expectation but they uses Petronas Syntium for their engine oil. Wait time is OK. But distance damn far away from my place :)

Sapph, Petronas Syntium 3000 LL and Shell Helix Ultra AB are the only two oils available in our market that I trust to be true fully-synthetic Group 4 polyalphaolefin oils. They are the only dealer-fill oils used by BMW and Mercedes dealers. My apologies to Castrol, but as they are the ones who started the whole global marketing trend towards calling Group 3 mineral oils as fully-synthetic, I will never believe them when they say any of their oils are fully-synthetic. You make your marketing bed, you lie in it...forever!

If you're worried that it's a locally made oil, rest assured that Syntium 3000LL feedstock is imported, because we don't have any polyalphaolefin plants in the country.

Your general knowledge in engine oil amazed me :)

Thanks for the info.... my BSRI engine oil change coming up in less than 1k km... so because of what you just said... I will go back to Ingress :-D Ha ha ha!

Petronas Syntium is now dealer-fill for all Mercs sold in the UK, Turkey and China. That's not bad for a Malaysian company eh, to be picked by both Mercedes and BMW, the top 2 auto brands? All arising from Petronas' high-profile involvement in F1, and some astute operational and marketing moves made in the past decade. Petronas is a global brand now, something to be proud of. :top:

Schwepps, Castrol's new 0-40W and the TWS are group 4 polyalphaolefin oils, not sure about the SLX. The rest like the 5W-40, 10-60 edge sport are all group 3 oils. However, from the data that was sent to me, the difference between group 3 and 4 are pretty minimal.

Cheers

Hey guys... I just got my "pre-loved" e90 about a week ago. So, I have some newbie questions...

Does any authorized BMW dealer allow car owners to bring their own engine oil?

If not, besides Petronas Syntium 3000 LL, what other engine oil do the BMW dealer offer?
