I was traveling along the north-south PLUS highway from south heading back to KL. When I reached around Bangi area where the AES camera is located, I consciously maintained my speed at 80km/h although I was at the rightmost lane. I noticed all other cars around me were also traveling around the same speed as well. However when I arrived at the camera, it flashed twice and I suppose it was capturing the image of my car as I don't see what else the camera would be capturing but my car as mine was the only car on the rightmost lane. I am very certain my speed was maintained at 80km/h. If really the camera did flashed to capture my car, it could be malfunctioning and recording a wrong speed. So, in the event I get a summon from AES, how do I contest it? It would be my word against their malfunctioned camera which they will claim is fine. Any thoughts, guys?

I was flashed twice at the Slim River AES in the last 6 months but no summon was issued/received until today. Speed limit is 110 km/h at that stretch and I was travelling around 110-120 km/h once and 90 km/h the second time. Could be the camera malfunctioned or it captured another car. But I do remember clearly I was the only car in the right lane too that time.

Hence, my advise is wait until you received the summon and do not worry much for the time being. You will be able to check online after 1-2 weeks.

C-kuasa dua ...why it flasshed ? i just zoomed by you at the next opposite direction lane larrr ...heading to seremban !!

at times it detect the opposite fast zooming car hence it flashes ...but it won't be able to record the car number as the the higway elevation of the other route has got a height difference and not to forget the barrier level too.

I experienced the similar scenario on last Sunday when I was on my way back to Penang. At Slim River, I was cruising at ~105km/hr with my cruise control turned on. 2 cars was speeding and over took me before I move to the right lane and the camera flashes on my car. I was so curious, it suppose to flash the 2 speeding cars instead of my car.

I think it's very difficult for you to contest. It's your words against the photo evidence. Some more BMW. Sure the judge won't believe you that you are travelling below 110km in a BMW.

..you could easy to contest if you could hold camera and record video where both flash and speed gauge are visible at same time in video..but i guess, its easier to simply slow down for some 20-30 seconds before nasty cam, and then punch it up as everybody else does :)

Yeah true , dont take the chance to drive at marginal speed, go slower , after for another 500mtrs and later you can fly as you like.
