Just wanted to share a couple of speed camera locations i encountered on my northbound trip to Hadyai. These two locations were actual road blocks rather than the "snap" and send you summons later. They were at km197 and km397.Would love to hear of any others.

Not possible lar!:) Most of the time 140-160kmh. Flyover coming up, slow down to 110kmh. Spot a 90kmh sign, immediate compliance! :D

To me it's not about speeding. It's just useful to know. Honestly how many can say they stick to 110kmh. With our UDM's we can soo easily cruise at 120kmh, which is like crawling and already breaking the law.

I think this is a good thread for guys to put up info on speed camera locations..then somenone could maybe sticky it.

I've got plenty of summons that shows Slim River as a fav among the speed camera brigade. So guys,Slim River area, slow down.

Hi there,

You guys can consider getting Garmin GPS devices in which you can actually download these speedtrap locations, and of cos NAV maps (updated frequently) into the device. See www.malfreemaps.com; www.malsingmaps.com. When you approach certain stretch of road they actually warn you abt the traps. Very useful and handy.

They are also getting economical these days.

Cheers,
Neoh

Good info..

Problem is,some of us have iDrive and BMWs navi is not as user friendly. So if anyone have Garmin's GPS with these speed trap locations,PLEASE do share it here.

I don't know how to drive slow and I'm tired of paying up.Last year alone I had 23 speed related summons. This shared info would be very useful to many of us.

THANX:adore:

I drive well above the speed limit most of the time, but only got 1 last year. It's a matter of knowing when to slow down. Overpass intersections and 90kmh stretches: that's where the traps are.

Down to blind luck in many circumstances also

Also, having a foreign driver's license can be very handy. Sometime the cops look at it and think it will be too much hassle to process :top:

Recently the authorities have been very helpful in putting up warning signs in speed trap areas :) Look out for a big board with camera icon on the left side of the highway.

For a detailed list of trap sites, I use the link shown below

http://amdtaufik.com/malaysia/2009/07/list-of-speed-trap-in-malaysia/

For speeding without saman, Sepang is having a track day next week on the 15th

Great info!

Useful topic but at wrong thread. 3 Series?

Nothing wrong la. Topic might benefit other series as well but many E90 folks here seldom click out of this domain (comfort zone).. so perhaps the thread starter has targeted his audience.. :D

kesas highway, tapah area, putrajaya...........drive at 60-90 or way above it to avoid a ticket

Kuantan bypass...that's the one I forgot and where I was tagged last year. Yeah Kesas...I drove it yesterday and I could see the copper from 500m at the Puchong interchange. Kiara every Saturday, and Connaught every Sunday, including at night. Don't think they can't tag you at night!

I would be more interested in the breathalizer spots - those are more scary as you can spend the night in the lockup! I know there's one along Tun Razak before the Semarak intersection...

I don't think much about speedtraps but do slow down at the hot spots like tapah & bidor etc.
The fact that we only travel up like once in a month or two, it does not bother me too much.
If kena, think of it as " trackday fee ". It's one of those rare times to push the car out of city driving.
And love that curvy stretch between jelapang & changkat jering.

Unless we commute or frequent the h'way, might want to give extra care.

Also to pay attention to flashes from oncoming traffic .

Anyway, anyone encounter speedtraps on DUKE? It's the only h'way in town we can tekan!!
So far not seen one although there is a sign before exit to MRR2

Also check out this apps

http://www.trapster.com/

it's active in KL informing traps, roadblock, Traffic info etc.
They have built in info on hot spots will notify thru your phones when you are within proximity

it's networking and depend on user input
