Will it be a tight squeeze ah with the F13 parked side by side...

I think it might be a bit of a squeeze. I left about 12 inches of space between the passenger side & the white pillar you see there. I think I might get the renovation guys to also help me paint the car spaces properly - just to help me estimate the width. Both cars are quite 'fat'... sigh. Space is always a premium in Singapore, and our houses are nothing compared to the ones in Malaysia or Australia, where there's a bit more land to play around with. Well, at least not the houses that I can afford comfortably anyway.

The only good news is that there are 12 + 1 (handicapped) visitor carpark spaces (and we are one of the very few, very rare Cluster Housing developments that actually cater for visitor carpark spaces!), and there are not that many visitors on any given day, so I guess I could always park one @ the designated parking space, and the other in a visitor carpark space :)

I am really just counting down the days... another 3 weeks more to go!

Uh huh. Can see that you're a very neat parker. I always made it a point to park either at extreme left or right when at carparks, and if in the middle, must make sure car is as straight as possible without getting in the way of neighbouring cars to avoid paint dings and scratches.

Then again, cannot discount the fact that no matter how careful we are, there's always the possibility that the other party doesn't have the same attitude towards the cars parked besides them.

Anyways, I digress. Was wondering, since the F02 has been parked to the extreme right, was wondering how ur gonna come out of the F13 if parked beside, since it probably will be a tight fit if you reverse the car in. Unless park the F13 head in, thus parking it to the extreme left of the left parking bay, leaving u slightly ample space to enter and egress both rides? :p

Good point bro Eggie. I guess I'll just have to do it trial and error and get back with the solution...

And i guess we also have to wait for another month for the arrival of your new 'baby'...hehe
the suspense continue.....

Less than a month, bro naharnms... ETA of the vessel carrying my precious cargo is 20th February. Clearance of customs etc, say a few days, PDI work & cleaning up, touch up work (I requested for additional insulation to be put in to dampen road noise & wind noise) another few more days - ETA of delivery should be 27 Feb, latest 28 according to my Sales Exec.

If she bluff me, I will go look for her down & knock her head!

Seems like the F12/13 M6 is out... Kekeke.

Thanks to Paul Tan.org for the updates...

The clock is ticking.... any updates? Do share the pic of your new toy and as usual, a great write up hehe

Bros, believe me, I'm anxiously waiting for that one telephone call... But, I still have another (at least) week to go. Just put in a bid for a car registration number, dunno of successful or not - some of these number bidding exercises can be awfully expensive!

I promise to keep the bros here updated, and as soon as I get my hands on the car, I'll report back here straight away!

So busy these few months - car is coming, renovations on the house starting on Monday.... exciting times indeed!

My apologies again, to a section of the Official Members of BMWCM. I've overstayed my welcome, and I should take out the trash as I leave.

Sigh. I am not a happy camper. Yesterday, I received a call from my SE, saying that because my car is a made to order individual model which I requested, amongst the long list of individual options; for sun roof deletion (all standard ex-stock F13 cars in Singapore come with this stupid sun roof that doesn't even retract - just tilts up like 2"!) it is now being inspected by the Land Transport Authority for approval, before it can be registered.

The reason is that sun roof deletion is considered a structural modification which requires LTA notification and approval prior to registration on the road!

I can't believe it - I ordered the car nearly 1/2 a year ago! Surely the dealer would have had AMPLE time to get the paperwork ready and the necessary approval confirmed! This is a plate of BULL$h1t that they are serving me!

I'm so upset that words escape me right now... F¢Uking nuts!

Exactly! I would think getting rid of the sun roof - and this was incorporated during my car's assembly at Dingolfing! - would actually STRENGTHEN the structural integrity of the car! To be fair, LTA didn't say structural defect. They said structural modification, but all that translates to is a DELAY IN MY CAR'S DELIVERY!!! *wail*

Exactly bro erica34! That's my whole point - it's not an after market modification, and removing the sun roof actually improves structural integrity of the whole car. But, that's the law, and I have to obey... as much as I am now desperately upset about it. To think, here I was, expecting the car to be ready by the end of this week, only to be told that there'll be at least another week's delay! My God... how to tahan!?!?!

WTF! Car with sunroof is not allowed in SG?

You got it wrong. the sunroof is deleted. So cars without sunroof is not allowed, too low spec hehe

Haha. I just learnt from my SE today that this is called homologation... Sounds like an obscene word, but because my 640i is the 1st in SG without a sun roof, they have to get LTA's approval! Stupid right!?

Sorry to hear that bro.

But I just can't stop wondering what would those LTA folks be talking about your car/application once it reaches their desk : "we better alert the boss, owner has chosen to remove the sunroof, so now we need to lower the road tax and refund COE. Shhhhh......we can't tell the owner about this."
