Sad to say this year lack of oldies such as 2002's and e30's,e24's,e34's where are all of you? even me came with my 1series only hidden at the back of soulout, my e30 not in healthy mood so stay home.

Guys and gals,

Pls use this thread as the title says, to give comments and feedback on the Grand TT, and not to say hi five to people you met or did not meet (use PM/email/sms/phone/msn/yahoo/Post Msia etc for that).

Thank you.

Great Turn Out.. Was there at around 2:30 and found out I was the second person there. Kahar and 2002 arrived around 2:40 to make the early arrangement... Guess what... More than 20 E46 turn up at around 2:50..

You guys should be there to see the convoy of e46.
It was a sight to behold. Unfortunately, the rain came... Mood was dampened
but things started to hot up when more cars started to turn. The carpark
was full when the clock hit 5:00 pm...

Thank to all who have help in orgainizing the great TT... and
especially all who turned up..

and a special thanks to Mr. Vijay and Mr. Wolfgang of BMW Malaysia, the press
and our sponsor Kurnia. :eek:k:

our sponsor Kurnia. :eek:k:
What did they sponsor? I noticed their branding on our banner and there were the odd bunting here and there.

We still had to pay for our own drinks and food. What DID Kurnia sponsor?

Kurnia had earlier verbally agreed on sponsorship for the club. However, the amount was only confirmed last week. Amount was not sufficient to cover for the great turn-out and to implement control would be a nightmare in an open premise in Souled Out.

As such, the money(RM3500) was used to pay for the meals for the VIP table and the mineral water everyone gets at the registration table. Not forgetting the banners. And the remainder was decided to be deposited in the club fund.

First of all.. it was a good turn out of HOW MANY CARS ?

SECONDLY - This my comments on that ' Grand TT' on saturday ..
- No personal attacks to the committe or the organizing committee.

- The GRAND TT - SUCKS BIG TIME.

WHY ?

reasons, based on my opinion to voice out, i was by many what was the next agenda.. 'what happening next' others ask me ?

WHERE was the people behind this screwed up GRAND TT ?

take the welcoming intro, nothing else,( thanks david for volunteering)either than that was , car number #### please move your car ? and the
announcement for the Cameron Highland Drive.

where was the announcements ? welcome the group from penang, Temerloh, Johor ? Many forumers came to picture their 'nicks' to the face, i met many new members ? - NONE

Where was the 'Thank you' for Mr. Vijay and Mr. Wolfgang of BMW Malaysia, the press and our sponsor Kurnia. Nobody mentioned it? NONE
i went up and spoke to Mr. Wolfgang . He told me a lot of things for my ears only.

Where was the sponsor from Kurnia ? what did they sponsor ? Money or in kind ? - NONE

What happened to the 'so called' poll on the 'best cars' best this & that ?
made everyone a full to go around and pen'ed in down ?
even i ask what's that for ? Wait and see i was told ? - NONE

what happened ? COME ON COMMITTEE, all of you did not not even know what was happening ?

DID ALL OF YOU ORGANIZED THIS GRAND TT OR WAS IT ONLY THE VP AND THE OLD COMMITTEE WHO HELP ?

THE WORST GRAND TT - thats my comment.. :getyourfactsright:

as for record, the last year Grand TT was the best.

thank you.

what VIP table ? where ?

I guess it was just another TT coz did not feel the grand part of it. Was expecting some speeches welcoming members from all over. Anyway, i guess it is part of the plan but for some reason did not happen.

Pussy,

Thank you for your candid views on the matter. I am sure the committee have their reasons and will answer you in due time.

MOPIKO LAI LIAO!

I cannot compare this to last year's Grand TT, as I didnt attend last years do.

But I do second Pussy on some of his comments.

Although the response and turnout was good, I expected some sort of a "programme'. Yes we were all there to meet and mingle but shouldnt we have at least acknowledged and introduced those VIPs and sponsors present? , welcomed our forumers who made the trip from afar? Thanked the sponsors...

A little welcoming speech by the VP or Chairman of Grand TT organising committee (in absense of the Prez) followed with probably an into and a word from either Wolfgang or Vijay would have been good too.

Yes, it was a gathering but some felt that it wasnt "organised" enough.

ps. I did not get no mineral water.

As a member to what so called 'BMWclubmalaysia', pls allowed me to express some concern :-

- Some simple protocol is a must in any event especially if a VIP is invited. A simple thing as, someone fr the commitee need to accompany the VIP all the time. don't let the VIP loose around by his own. Should you don't know about protocol DON'T do any events or ask around. This is very important.

- Events without itenery ????

- even my grandmother funeral also have speeches.

- The car was park like 'Parking Kereta Haram' especially in front of the SO enterence. Try to look last year, the car was arranged nicely.

- What do you feel ?? ... after driving 400 km to attend what so called 'Grand' event, further more the outstationed guys is 'heavily' invited, when arrived No introduction was made. sitting among them without knowing what going to happen.

- Is there any 'car competition' that day ...???? Any explaination given on how, what, which ....... ???? I was given a piece of paper to fill ....... What happen then ?????

what I can say about the events is Grand TT SUCKS BIG TIME

Cukup sampai disini dulu ...

YAzid

allooo...

i have to agree with pussy and yazid....i was expecting a better organized and well coordinated event....
when i arrived...
1. just jot down my name and collect the badge.
2.order some food for my family.
3.gone around to see the cars..
4.puzzle on what to do next..
4.then....by 6.30 everyone starts leaving....

????????

any comment from the committe???

Its alright. The TT was jsut a meet and greet event. Nothing special just a bunch of bimmer guys parking their rides and showing it off.
I must admit I felt a little bored at times as I there was no real structure. I did meet a few guys from the past and was able to get some feedback from fellow E30s for future modifications.

Since this is my first TT, I can't comment about the previous. The rain ruined a good part of the TT but that alright it was an experience.

Truelah.... the event could have been better organised and the present Committee members should have made this a compulsory event for their own attendance.

For the sake of Newbies and those who have joined the Forum in the past year, there should have been a deliberate attempt to introduce the Committee, the Advisors and the Moderators. This is essential to maintaining accountability, transparency and also just good society/club governance. Thats just in terms of an "ice-breaker".

In terms of having an itenary, the speeches by the VIP's is an almost "must" for any such car club gathering. Also, a speech by the highest ranking Committee member and a speech by the head of the event organising committee.

It looked like there was some form of an itenary present....but it was solely for the Voting of the Car ballot. Even then, at 645pm there was still no sign of its results. Obviously, this could have been handled in a better manner.

Since there were sponsors involved and the monies exchanged hands, it is only natural that the Committee account for it. It was mentioned that the sponsorship monies were used to entertain the VIP's. In this case, the forum members have a right to know who these VIP's are. Also, there is a corporate/society/club responsibility to state how much was spent on the VIP's and how much was put into the club's funds. Transparency and Accountability are key facets for any responsibly run society/club. This should be practiced inlight of the pending Register of Societies application.

In terms of PR/Newspaper/Media coverage...there should have been a clear indication to the members of the Forum if any of the shots taken are/were going to be used for advertising purposes. This is essential as there are members who's cars are used by Sponsors for various other products etc. This "notice" is practiced by the UK BMW club and also some Chapters of the US club.

Obviously, there are many other areas which could be improved and which no doubt other members would discuss at length..... the above are merely cursory observations on my part.

Cheers!
