Some like the TT sessions. Like for me, its about activities and I do not expect it for free. We have to pay ... but at least for me, I can say. Yeah ... join the club then got things to do with people who have the same interest. Socialise la ...
MRsamdol;755816 said:Would have been easier if the club was around first before the forum... Most online seem to think it is just a forum not a club so they don't see the need to join membership. Well that's what i thought before when the club was finally registered then. Used to argue with the same exact points as some has stated here and the other thread.
What changed my mind was i realized that this is BMW club Malaysia and i felt the need to be associated with the brand so i joined. Guess each person will realize the distinct difference from forum and club and will join and some will not, it's those in between that OM's and OM's have to push for not the ones who type the most words or have a high post count as it is known what their initial intentions are which is forummer only. I am proof a forummer will become a member so i guess, CM's and OM's have to be patient as it is very well known that any online/forum argument there will always be no winners just a bunch of people who just argue for the sake of it with no end solution.
I blame it on those high member car forums which seems to some here have assumed like me is free for all and there should be no need for fees. We are different than e46fanatics, bimmerforums, e90post, m3post, zerotohundred, lowyat etc we are BMW club Malaysia an official entity registered with ROS and recognized by BMW.

Don't defend yourself by associating all Malaysians are stingy and selfish yet have a disclaimer be fair, to each their own? You seem like a nice guy but don't you get that the committee and members here are trying to get more members? Sorry if it seems i am singling you out by quoting but you are the prime example of a forummer like i was, first year jumped to hundreds of posts. Arguing cause i like drama, like to right people cause i feel it needed to be done... a rebel in a controlling order, a keyboard warrior, causing divide in a group when the group should work together. I liked it, it was fun but when you are ready join officially.. this club needs more members like you, very active online and willing to put the extra effort like for example you organizing track day. I appreciate your posts and efforts for this club and wish it has more official members like you to make it better.

so, unless radical changes is going to happen from this thread, which i doubt, why start the whole pay-dont pay story. if the club kaputs, then bmwclubmalaysia would become bimmerclubmalaysia. most if not all the members would be the same, you will still have drives. TT pun ada. the passion of the roundel is still there, so what's the diff? no official recognition from bmw? sucks a little, but like i said earlier, does it change anythign?
xxx....so u better go find some young nice ones la....start the initiaitve. i will cum support you.....

I know many of you are passionate for the club and trying to recruit as many members as possible (tabik!) but if one still chooses to remain as a Club Guest for their own personal reasons, they do not deserved to be ridiculed.
WE can't force everyone to join the club and have a "If you are not with us, then you are against us" type of mentality. Participating and using the forum doesn't qualify one to be a free loader, in my opinion.
It is those that join drives, official events and etc, but yet still refused to join. Now, those are your free loaders and I won't feel sorry if everyone of you aim your AK-47 at them:bandit::bandit:

It's about paying to be part of a BMW community that is for the marques that we appreciate and love. I know some are so passionate that they dont mind paying the 300 bucks while some, well, eventhough they drive a BMW, they struggle financially. However, there are majority of which do not think it's worth paying.
P.S. When the time comes for me to pay my dues to join the club - If I am asked for a copy of my BMWs registration cards... well.. what can I say? If you don't know me by now.. and my significance has to be shown via a photostated document, u ain't worth my time... u have yr rules.. i have my own principles...
