Last night I just come back from the mechanic shop asking on this matter, they told me is the engine mounting however I went there is to change my ATF oil and microfilter. After the services, this issue of stooping and jerks gone. But the ATF oil is expensive. Mine is E60, it consume 7 bottles. The entire services cause my 2k + ...

Sometimes adaptive reset will not solve the jerking. So far, I have not come across anyone that can do adaptive reset that will clear the problem. ATF change will also not resolve the issue BUT it is still good to hv the ATF changed periodically (after every 50K km). That will make the gearbox last much much longer.

Mengenai gearbox keta Man, lazim-nya "gear jerk" or gear slam" ada kiatan dgn komputer unit dan kemungkinan juga gearbox tu sendiri. Saya kena tgk dulu keta Man dan rasa sendiri jerking tersebut, baru bole tentukan kepastian-nya. Man tinggal kat ner? Saya minggu ni ada di-KL. Kalau urusan saya siap awal, bole kite jumpa. Ini number saya (0193141348). kalau bole txt saya. Nnt saya return call.

I done ATF change. Gear shift feel smoother. Gear box 'jerk' or 'slam' so far belum ada rasa lagi. What I did was, change ATF and filter. Do resetting all error found. No adaptive reset was done. cost wise:
ATF=RM350
Pan/filter:RM320
labour : RM150
Diagnose/error reset : RM80
Done at German Mechanic in Desa View, Melawati.

I done ATF change. Gear shift feel smoother. Gear box 'jerk' or 'slam' so far belum ada rasa lagi. What I did was, change ATF and filter. Do resetting all error found. No adaptive reset was done. cost wise:
ATF=RM350
Pan/filter:RM320
labour : RM150
Diagnose/error reset : RM80
Done at German Mechanic in Desa View, Melawati.
I live in Wangsamaju.

can you give some comment on this? is it reasonable or overcharge ?? I see the msg from azmanshah on the pricing is cheap as the ATF oil only 350 ? below is what one of the garage in JB charge me:-

ATF Oil = RM 89/ bottle X 7

Filter = RM 640

Micro Filter RM 340 X 2

labour : RM160

Diagnose/error reset : RM70

hi all, my e60 has the gear shift 2-1 when going fast to a full stop jerking problem. i bring it to authorized dealer, they recommend me to change atf oil n do adaptive memory reset. after i took the car, the problem fixed.. no jerking at all shifting from 2-1, as well as in manual mode.. after that the problem came back again in 2-3 months time, after long research for this gearbox problem, i conclude it was due the the adaptive gearbox memory.. which has to be clear.. n then my mechanic clear the adaptive memory. it solves the problem..

whenever u felt jerk from driving fast to a full stop, you can try shifting from M2 to M1 when in stationary, if it does jerk, find a mechanic that can do gearbox adaptation memory reset. and then perform a gearbox adaptation.

guys need some advise..i was driving down hill then error message "Transmission Fault" warning in idrive came out..then when i stopped for 5 minutes and restarted
everything was back to normal...pls advice what should i do...just got the car 5 days ago...

Hi there, i don't think you can do it below 1 K......i am driving a 520i, it need to consume 7 bottle.....see my thread above on the costing....

For prices ref, call up Bavarian Auto (03) 7876-5555 and check prices for ATF oil & ATF oil filter. Then add in the labor & diagnose/error reset charges and you will know the actual.

I just called Bavarian Auto and prices are as follows:-

1. 1 Litre ZF ATF oil - RM 50.00 (need about 8 litres for e60 520i & 525i)
2. 1 ATF Oil filter - RM 318.00

greetings bro Kay. Happened to me also last month. A couple weeks after tht while the wifey was driving it, the E60 completely stalled and would not start ..... was almost :motz: but managed to remain calm and to accept it .. :top:

Anyway after abt 2 hours (waiting for the tow truck to come) I decided to try and start it back and to my surprise, it did and till this day, its running smooth.

I believe our E60 (yr 2004-2010) needs to be reset/reprogramme. Try pm herbert/NKTOB for advise. In the meantime, when going downhill, try to avoid going on auto ... never release the accelerator without putting your foot on the brake pedal .... :4:

This work shop is in JB inside Johor Jaya...Benz Motor....do you recommend i go back to AB next time ? I wonder is it very expensive? especially the 90 min servicing..please give ur precious advise...

Saya sendiri pun x pasti apa punca masalah e60 saya.

1. kereta akan terasa gegar selepas start waktu pagi/setalah lama berhenti.
2. Semasa gear 3 dah engaged, meter rpm naik secara step by step (mcm naik tangga) dan pd masa ini kereta terasa jerk.

frust jgk rasanya bila keta jd mcm nie...gear shift pun rasa mcm kasar sikit. fyi, sy dah tukar ATF oil brand revanol (german Made). ZF ATF oil xde stok masa tu. tq
