Salam Ramadhan to all...especially Sifus and Gurus,Just got a recon E60 2005 Japan spec last week. The car's exterior/interior is excellent n well taken care of by her previous owner. However I've noticed that initially when accelerating, the engine jerks and drag a little before showing her real stuff. This happens almost everytime. Even when at stationary, when the engine is running, after about 15 minutes or so, there's a cranking-like sound as if the gear is changing. I could feel the jerk from inside the car. And during idling, at times there's whistling sound from the engine...well I hope its not using the Jet engine or somethng... When I open the engine compartment lid, I notice the engine also vibrates more than it should Help me out pls...anybody?...do I need a fresh oil change?..tuning?...or a new ride..hehe?

yo, romeo:
if u look up the thread "e60 jerk" initiated by edwingerard within this forum space, i think u'd get some of the comments u need on jerk...
on the whistling sound, .. that's somethin' else totally.... heck, maybe your bimmer saw a nice babe or somethin'? ( assuming ur ride is just as romeo as u r.....he,he)

:)

thanks wolverine...
i'd looked up the said thread, but i don't think they're relevant to my problm bcos most of theirs happened when they're about to stop while mine was when i were about to accelerate...thanks anyway.

on the whistling...if it was caused by passing hot babe, then its ok. But i just hope that it was not meant for me...then it will be somethng else!!!

:listen: bro romeor30010, the whistling sound could be anything but most likely could be your turbo unit showing signs that something is not right. Usual case would be the turbo hose or worst of the unit has and oil leak from somewhere....have it checked at any authorised outlet if you may ....:top:

mine, 04 525i will jerk followed by a transmission fault warning. dealer already flush the gbox under warranty and gearbox feels really smooth after, however got another warning last week and dealer said that they would change the mechatronic. Now waiting for part to arrive..
