Bro,
Mine is 2004 530d and already clocked more than 700K mileage. No issue with gearbox and engine as well. But my Neighbour's 2009 525 (LCI) just overhaul his gearbox at batu cave and cost him RM4000++.
The moral of the story, as long as you maintain your car as per recommended schedule and replace wear and tear,it should be fine.

My car already 210 k mileage now and still running strong without any jerking issue .. ( touch wood ) first time ATF changed at 180k mileage and works fine till now .. Mine is LCI version and quite trouble free so far since day one ownership except wear and tear part replacement , so conclusion is BUY LCI. No doubt !

Mybe mechatronic start to got problems...same like my e60 jpn spec....n it will go to yur gearbox if u not repair. ...like virus.....ermmm

I have the same problem when the car will jerk when coming to a stop. Read this earlier thread and wanted to change the solenoid. One thing lead to another and was recommended to have all the gears, gaskets, seals, oil, pump, pan, o-rings and what knots in the gearbox replaced. i think its called overhauled. 3 days job. Damages 9k. Now the car don't have the jerk anymore but have a slight jerk when pick up from low gear sometime. When back to check whether its the gearbox issue and they detected that the knock sensor is faulty and need replacement. Anyone experience this before? and how much will it cause to replace the knock sensor?

Since nobody give any advice, i went ahead and have the knock sensor replaced. Parts + labour RM800. Didnt feel much different also, car still feel inferior and not any lighter as claimed by foreman before replacement. The car still lack of power and when accelerate from slowing down, it has some jerk before moving forward. Not satisfied and continue to read the forum subject pertaining to Jerk, power lag, tuning, powerbox, sprint booster, software update, resetting etc....

I even went and install the sprint booster for a trial. it actually made the car very responsive but the 'smoothness' is still not there when accelerate hence it defeat the purpose. Still analysing what can be done further.

Read a thread about checking the ignition coil, plug and fuel sensor. Went and have the car check for the items and found out plug and ignition coil is from day1 of my 525i car 2007 pre lci and the fuel sensor is still in good condition. Went ahead an have all the coils and plugs replaced. I also asked for the adaptive to be reset. The car is indeed lighter and more responsive when accelerate but i can still feel a very slight jerk and hungry for gas kind of thing when accelerate from a u-turn or a slow down.

Can any one help with further action to be taken? I know the next move will be a costly one... have the megatronic replaced.

Thanks Algino.

Changed fuel filter and still feel the acceleration issue. When i drive it at manual or sport mode no such 'lag' or delay issue when accelerating. Now i have to adapt to the car when accelerating instead, this is adaptive driving!

Any workshop that i can bring to that is specialist in this kind of 'sickness'? Or i just leave with it and still claim that i have the UDM.

Help!!! and thanks for any suggestion.

I had the same problem. Send to ingress and they reset transmission and some adaptive. It tooks 3 days for them to "teach my car" how to behave properly and cost me RM200++. Now the transmission is so smooth and no more jerk when stop or accelerate. I was told that they just drove the car with some speed and gear position so that the car can be forced to learn what is required (some oil and air parameters) to be adjusted according to your driving pattern. But they said the problem can also be solved immediately without need to "teach the car" by replacing mechatronic (They don't do solenoid replacement). This will achieve the same thing as well.

My suggestion, bring your car to to Authorised dealer so that they can perform root cause analysis on your car and perform proper diagnosis.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. It could be the dreaded Transmission Slam. I am also experiencing the same problem and have sent my vehicle for a transmission adaptation whereby he previous learning data will be cleared and readapted. I will only have the car back with me later on. Fingers crossed. Sourced this of another website. The following software errors were corrected with the release of CIP 17.01(Target data Status E060-05-06-500). Vehicles equipped with 6HP26 up to 4/05, customer complains of harsh downshift. Refer to SI B24 03 05. Here is the SIB240305 bulletin: SUBJECT Harsh 2-1 Downshift MODEL E60 (545i); E63/64 645(Ci/Cic) with 6HP26 up to 04/05 SITUATION Customer may complain of the following: An excessively harsh 2-1 downshift when decelerating to a stop, or Transmission "bangs" into gear when accelerating from a full or a "rolling" stop (vehicle did not come to a complete stop). CAUSE EGS software. CORRECTION On a customer complaint basis only, reprogram/recode complete vehicle using SSS with CIP on-line update 17.01, or higher. Important: Transmission temperature must remain below 50 deg C and trans shifter must be placed in P position prior to the start of CIP programming. WARRANTY INFORMATION Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty. For the appropriate defect code and labor operation refer to the KSD system.

Bro can I know the location of the workshop....I got same problem also.........

Bro,
My advise to you, just go to any authorised dealer and they will advise you accordingly. According to a workshop that I visited before, if no error appeared/detected, the problem is with some parameter setting that only authorised dealers have necessary resources/skill to solve the issue. This is common issue with e60 and the cost is RM200++.
But he also told me that he can solve the problem by changing solenoid which allow DME & transmission adaptive to be reset and relearn automatically.
I had the same jerk problem after a workshop reset my transmission adaptive after ATF service.
Fortunately, the problem 100% resolved after Ingress reprogram my Adaptive Transmission and some DME parameters.
Good Luck...

Further to my earlier message, if your is recond and does not comes with summer package, then different story. I met another e60 525 Japan spec owner and he said he spend more than RM100K (I think he was exaggerate) for 3 years to maintain & solve many issue including his gearbox and engine.
According to him, the Japan/UK spec cannot handle our moisture, heat and our petrol. So I would suggest, findout what is e60 summer package and change necessary part to prevent any future issue.
Particularly, related to heat control.

bro i think summer package = hot climate kot....

Hi all...i just got myself a beamer E60 uk spec..excellent driving performance..However noticed that each time the car stops at thetraffic light for an instance, the car jerks a couple of times..Only worried if it is gear box issue..please advise.
Hi Edwin gerard, I had the same problem, apparently this happens when one of the valves does not synchronyze with the rest (they use the term - misfire), got the system rebooted and it works perfectly well now, in some cases it persist despite rebooting, thats a sign that you may have to replace the misfiring valve .. can be quite costly .. ka ching !

Hi bro,

Anyone here have solved the issues of the car jerking while accelerating? Its like the car when we press our fuel somehow its like losing power and dragging the meters up and down. Could it be anything?

Bro,
I had the same problem before. Send to recommended workshop (BMW specialist) and was told that need to replace certain parts that will cost few thousands.

Then I decided to send to BMW dealer and they solved it by tuning/remap the engine. It cost me less than RM300.

The problem is, you have to leave your car for them to properly diagnose.

Thanks bro for the advise. Ill try for tuning again if possible. Really dont know what is the possible cause of it.
