Any recommendations for shockers - to raise the height of the car as well as better comfort. Current setup : bilstein sports absorbers (black) coupled with Eibach springs (black) on 18" wheels/40 series rubbers.Car is low, very stable and good setup for fast driving and corners but might wanna compromise all that for a more comfortable and higher ride (getting old la). :lazy: Any recos on shockers? Will changing the shocks alone give higher ride and comfort?

Fix back to ori coils but maintain the sport shocks...then you get a bit of both world...

Time to get practical.

Car not sold yet ah?

Romeo

But won't the ori springs bring the car up too high? (looks ugly right with 18 inch wheels??)

What's the height diff between ori springs and eibach sports? in inches?

Was told by someone experience that changing the shocks back to ori ones from Bilstein would increase the height slightly and give comfort ride.

So which is which??

No, haven't sold still looking for buyer but if not, i'll keep my ride and renovate it a bit to give it a fresh feel. Afterall, its still a damn beauty and a UDM aight!! :)

wrong!

ride height is determined by springs, lower the springs, and match it with appropriate rebound rate with the dampening rate from the lowered springs

one other long shot is addding extra bumper stop, it acts both ways

but the most reliable change is to add spring coilovers, u can adjust both height and spring rate, but just have to match with appropriate shocks, there are options for street or track setups

other option is to change your rims to 16 inches and use stock springs and absorbers setup......... :)

Hey Brader,

Ori on 18' will look a lil high cos 18' is already high and the coils will make the gap visible.

Changing the Bilstein sport to Bilstein HD or Sachs will give you comfort, but I think will still be bumpy due to coils.

Ive got 17' on ori coils and Bilstein HD and its comfy bordering bumpy. But Im happy with it.

I think you cant have both, gotta sacrifice one for the other.

Cheers Bro.

Thanks fellas for the input.

In short i'm looking a cost effective and economical solution to my situation.

Basically i want to raise the car higher approx 1.5-2 inches from its current setup. And if this comes with comfort and the expense of performance handling i'm fine with it. Furthermore my shocks are still good and wouldn't want to change if not required.

So in essence, what you're saying is that i can't just change the springs back to ori without changing the shocks as well, to give me additional 1.5 inches??

Anyone knows what's the diff in height between ori 95' 328i springs and the eibach black ones?
hey bro..still have ur '36 i see??

the difference is about 1" for Pro-kit and 2" for Sportline..depends on which ones u have.bro,i'd recommend u go for Eibach Pro-dampers(rm2000)as they are designed to work with Eibach springs and i believe they offer the best ride compromise..
i'm going for that setup too once my ori dampers die..now running on Pro-kits and 18"alloys,rides superbly.no complaints here..

yup u see right.. still got my drop dead gorgeous 6 potter! since i cant get a deal going, i'm planning to keep and do it up to suit my current taste which includes a host of things but essentially to bring the ride height up a little. Its very fierce-looking at the moment but i think i want better clearance at the bottom.

I'm on eibach black coils with blistein sport shocks at the moment. What spring would you reckon to bring it up by 1 inch? that's all im asking for.

wow..apart from going back to the original setup,i can't think of any other brands or setup..
well, unless u don't mind spending a bit more and get adjustables..Speedworks,RG and Titan.

i'm in the same situation here la..can't sell the car so i'm gonna give her a boost by doing her up somemore.slowly of course cuz things ain't cheap..
