haha good one bro, but dont la call me uncle..still young and free...still studying..

bro where u study, me too studying now :top:
good that u choose E34 :D

I change the spring not only because for looks, but also becos i feel riding a boat when running stock shock/spring setup. Now my car still soft, but without the boat feeling...floaty u know...:stupid:

but I prefer firmer ride ( I feel good after sitting GT-E34 car with B8 Big shaft setup, i dun feel bumpy at all :top:), i think i will change my suspension setup after i change engine..

Actually the tyre u choose also affects the ride, whether it has hard side wall or soft side wall...

Lowered = good look but harsher ride. I am reverting back to stock std

hey man. u said ur changing back to ur stock suspension. i understand u said that harsher ride? im changing my ride(e30) to a adjustable suspension. planning to lower my ride, get more grip at the corners. since it is aadjustable suspension, if i just adjust the level as high as the previous suspension, will it do anything?:listen:

once old friend told me........."stock is the best"

beauty is pain
want to lokk nice car got to sacrifice the comfort

but if lucky......u get compliment:top:

If they crawl over speed bump diagonally and held up traffic, they sure get a curse from me.. :D I know some will even give u a finger.. :24:

Mine is well lowered running on 19" wheels. All I can say is the ride is very comfortable and dun have to crawl over speed bump diagonally.

sorry for confusing you all, i want to know how long usually does lowered + sport shocks and spring last?as for my stock standard shocks + spring i know how long it will last...i never try any of lowered setup before so wanted to get a brief view on this matter..:stupid:

ya, many have provided good info not only for me but for all who read, and thanks to all..just that trying to get the theory first, practical is next.:top:

Lowered plus sport shocks will not last as long as ori stock shocks + spring. AS to how long exactly it will last, no one will be to answer you as it will depends on your driving style, the roads you drive on and etc etc.

hmm..seems like one need to test any setup himself right?

one more question guys, how about bmw ori sport shocks n spring?mtech setup for e34(ada ke:stupid:)..will it still be harsh as other aftermarket shocks + spring or the comfort is still there?

need otai advise here...
is it correct that BMW use or sub to SACH for their sport suspension setup....(such a MSport setup)
anyone...?

All about spring rates

To answer OP's quoestion. There are lot of varients to look for when talk about ride hight and ride confort. One major thing to consider is your spring rates. Higher the rates you have harsher the ride will be, meaning higher rate springs are stiff and makes your ride one crazy humpty dumty ride, unless you drive in track.
Usually shortend srpings are stiffer. That is why everyone says when they lower their cars, their ride comfortness goes down the drain. However, there are shotend springs with higher spring rates. So you can have lowered car with somewhat close to oem ride comfort.

Remeber . Your wheels don't make your ride harsh or confortable, your suspension set up does.

You should try 22" on 25 series tyres.. it definitely does make a difference to your ride, even on standard suspension.

i had my e34 for 10 glorious years.it was on APEX springs with oem BOGE dampers.i must say it handles superbly and I charge into every corner or sweeping bends like there's no tomorrow.lurve it.it is definitely harder than stock but mild enough to not upset that smooth e34 ride.
the dampers needed replacing every 3 years or so.i was on my 3rd set of dampers when i let her go last year.
