Is it the same for newer model E36 compared to the Ms? Maybe I read salah info somewhere.

after 92, all non-M cars had the ARB on the arms, therefore it doesn't apply to the newer e36, you may have read some US forums

although US spec M shared similair specs as the non-M , it's very much in detail to be discussed o nthe forum, but you can find interesting info on other forums boards from the states. Uk spec M had some what standalone specs that was totally different from the non-M.

but it is still posible to make non-M suspension close to the M cars suspension

sure arr?? i dont believe you. you get a couple of live models and we go test in your car k. Like Mythbusters on Discovery channel.

You get a better bouncing show with PSS9 :).

Btw what pussy said about getting a PSS9 stands only if you're the sort that is super fussy about suspension. Yes of course it'll burn a hole in your wallet but it's a great investment in the long run.

Having adjustables also helps if you are planning to change your rims, bodywork etc in the near future. If I were still using my B8+H&R setup I would have definitely ran into more problems when I changed my rims to 18s.

For me, adjustables is a one off investment and I'm glad I made that investment.

Hi all, would appreciate some advise on my suspension set-up. Been reading a lot but still cant gather much. I have an E36 318i (1996-M43 engine) and have been using the car for the past 6 years. Only recently (after nearly 4 years stint in Pg), I have decided to re-do my baby upon my return to KL. All the small bumps and scratches caused by PG's motorcyclist has been iron out with a fresh coat of paint, my baby looks pristine now! However, my stock suspension (Boge but now called Sach) is starting to give way (change them 6 years ago) and it needs a change. I have narrowed my options down to the following;

1) Bilstein B8 with HNR (not with Eibach as I heard it is too soft for B8s)
2) Bilstein B6 with Standard Stocks or Eibach (not lowered)

Tyres: 225/45/27 Potenza Adrenalin

Usual road use is Jln Tun Razak/Sprint Highway/Kerinchi Link/LDP/major parts of PeeJay (so will be expecting uneven roads, the occasional potholes and also smooth highways). Hence I need a good handling set-up but dont want the car to bounce up and down with stiff set-up (sat in some provo's b4 and my gawd, came out of the car disoriented and with a sore back/butt). To all the sifu's, some advise on both the above would be great! Thank you.

To Anxious, wonderful/beautiful/inspirational threads!! Keep it up!!!

Hi all,

Would appreciate if any sifu's could shed some light on my above quiry. Would really appreciate it and I am more confused as I was told that it would be more cost effective to fit a B12 (RM3500 for a set of 4) instead of B8 with H&R. (B8-RM2500 & H&R-RM1,300=RM3,800). I have also read that B12 is the same set-up with B8 (with H&R). Is it? Really need some input from any sifu's as this is the only mod I am planning for my car. Thank you in advance.

Hello guys

Just a quick question to all bilstein sifus, how do we differentiate the models of bilstein by looking at the absorber, any written model on the absorber, all i see is a yellow absorber with bilstein name?

the ex-owner had bilstein installed in the car that i bought over beginning of the year, since there are several models for yellow colour bilstein, I cant seem to distinguish between models.

Mine is yellow with ori spring e46. Thanks in advance

Any suggestions guys. I am also interested in the B12 kit but Allan of autofuture told me that it comes with Eibach Springs and not H&R. Anyone tried B12 kit for ur E36?

Thanks

i personally prefer matched kits, in this case B12 over B8+H&R spring. but if B12 kit uses eibach, i would go with B8+H&R. lost faith in eibach springs already after using them on my e34. 2 years already sag. without the custom spacer, i think rear tires will sangkut in the wheel arch :(

I have a combination of Bilstein B6 and Eibach lowered spring. The result is - not comfortable on Msia's uneven roads. Been using em for 5 years now I need a change. Need more comfortable drive.

hehe yup. i might just do that. but some people say that its the tires that really contributes to the rough ride. pening2

ya lor, low profile tires not so comfy, you can have the most expensive or quality, same one! .... so looks or comfy...? cannot have best of both worlds, you choose.. gd luck..

why not trying eibach + koni adjustable? take your own sweet time to adjust soft/hard/medium..

Spoke to Allan today, according to him he kept saying its bilstein springs:dontknow: but bilstein doesnt make springs.....anyway, I would prefer to have HnR springs.
Btw, the b12 displayed at his shop has the bilstein logo on the spring and it's not written that its a Hnr or eibach...
Can any sifu out there confirm, cause as I know its suppose to come with HnR springs...I'm confused!

Hi guys,
I am using bilstein PSS adjustable and i understand there is a workshop in KL who is able to rebuild (i have used it for 70K km).

Bilstein shocks / springs

Hi guys

I am new here. I understand you all have been discussing about shocks.
I am the Distributor of Bilstein for Malaysia (up to B6, sometimes B8), except tuning and off-road.

Just to clarify a few matters.
Bilstein B6 with original OE springs should still provide both comfort and steady ride, it's just a little harder than comfy.
Bilstein does not make spring, but its Parent Company - ThyssenKrupp is the OE spring manufacturer for more than 80% of cars in Europe.
Bilstein is now offering the OEM springs .....
We have full range BMW Bilstein Springs ...

I personally have tested 3 C-Class at Bilstein track, in Germany 2006, 1) B4 2) B6 and 3) PSS9.
Trust me, Bilstein is committed in providing the best shocks experience ....
