How I ended up with Bilstein Sports

Have anyone tried Titan coilover adjustable absorber?
Any feedback?
Advisable to use on E34?
I'm using the Titan absorbers I bought over from Tom. It's not the hi-low adjustable ones, this one is using back the original spring perch...
I did not opt to use the springs that they provided, prefered to use the Eibach prokit I'm using..

The eibach springs are indeed rather soft and can be easily compressed and infact the absorbers are actually doing a lot to hold the weight up. and during hard cornering, the bump stop comes into play as well to keep the springs from fully compressed.

Back to the Titan story. The titan absorbers are actually quite soft as the springs they provided are harder. So with the Eibach+titan, the eibach springs get compressed fairly. So I went for a retune (RM150) and Richard set it to harder bound n rebound. A lot better but still not enuf to my liking, the springs will still get fully compressed though not as frequently. Richard recommended to use the stiffer springs but I chose to stick to the Eibach as I want the absorbers to match the springs. If he can do that, I'm sure u guys here would be more interested with the Titan.... I would be paying him a visit soon to further tune it and to add bump stop to prevent the springs from fully compressed.

If still can't get the setting i'm expecting, will go back to my Bilstein Blacks....

oh btw, I'm using W124 rear absorbers for the rear. I think it's even stiffer than the Bilstein Sport... ;) and cheaper.....

As for Titans for E34, there is at least 1 E34 running with it. 535i shud know who that guy is...

jip, forget about spending big bucks on the brakes, just get the e32 servo + rear disc and its more than adequate!! :)
Can fit meh, bro ??!! I thot can only retro-fit on e34's ?

Jippy,

Have to really shop around for this item, they range from RM250-RM600 depending on which chopshop/jalan you go with. I procured one for a fellow forummer not too long ago and he's still smiling till tday. Happy hunting!

good informative thread this is....

some suggestions/comments :

jippy : to seriously enjoy your new found handling and a BMW, please drive a manual. YOU WUN REGRET IT since you work in CyberJaya and traffic....what traffic. You get better fuel consumption too.

suspension setup : I do agree if you have a softer steup in terms of spring/shocks combo - a stiffer ARB helps tame it down. Hence the IE bars complements the softer blacks. If you are already on mega stiff combo - the ARB's assistance will be less. Which point suits you....only your arse can tell.

brakes : eh - I tot the yellow submarine has a E38 servo/mc? In regards to a rear disc conversion, pls remember that most of your braking is done by the front........so mod with priority. Of course if looks is the value you stand by, no one will disagree with you. Pls note that the factory does things with valid reasons - safety uncompromised.

Anyway, the above r my 2 cents....

What I am REALLY curious about is ..... LEDA SUSPENSIONS..... they rock the scooby world in the UK and they can also do any car (see their website).... custom made!! AND they are in Malaysia.....

yep, heard of them... and was running on them, once. LEDA made customs front springs for Tiaras. Not bad, even with standard shocks.

Not the discs lah master Kor..... just the MC.

From my understanding of the article in http://e30m3performance.com/installs/insta...1/25mc/25mc.htm the larger MC results in firmer pedal feel and less travel....

As to outright power.... I am not sure, but my guess is it wont be affected too much as rotor diameter and calipers are both stock.... but it would be best if those who have done the swap give their FRs here.

FYI - a little tidbit I found out today - "All TUV pads are required to have graphite in them....this is why Pagid, Jurid, Textar and other TUV approved German pads are so dusty" .... source of info http://www.ultimategarage.com/brakeprc.html ..... now we know :)
