Sifus,Feedback and comments on the set-up:1. Standard shock/eibach prokit2. Eibach shock/Eibach spring - lower, better handling. Ride is a bit harder as compared to the standard shock and spring.3. Bilstein Black / eibach prokit4. Bilstein Yellow/eibach prokit5. Bilstein Shock/ Bilstein Spring6. Koni adjustable/apex/eibach prokit7. Titan8. Alpina - best compromise between handling & comfort, cost around RM7k for a set. 9. Standard Sachs shocks / Bilstein springs made by Eibach - Got the nice lowered looks, won't scrape bottom and still got old man compatible ride. Not as comfortable as standard springs but still about as comfortable as a Perdana. Handling is sporty like a much smaller car. Not much body roll and attacks corners better than a hot hatch. 10. Mtec springs + Bilstein Yellows - Ride is firm with taut control. Ride height is about 1 to 1.5" lower than std carDid I miss any combi, feel free to add and comments. Most peculiar on the comments from members on the Titan since it's a local born and bred. How does it compare to the well known brand. Any user in the forum that can give comments.Pls let the comments flow. Cheers

For me, I use hotbits spring/Koni adjustable shocks..but haven't try those new legs yet..my car still in the wokshop.. :(

Weechoon,
That's what I hope to achieved in posting this. Myself using the standard shock and eibach prokit set-up. Feel nice but a tad soft in terms of handling. Comfort okay.
Obviously, once you change the set-up you will lose the standard comfort. The same argument like performance and fuel efficiency. You increase the performance you will lose the efficiency.
But hopefully, this tread would be sort of a guide for us to use to know and arrive at the middle of the road thingy where you will get the balance between comfort and handling.

Note:- Interested in the Titan set-up judging from the promo of their site in zth

I am on Bilstein Yellow with Eibach springs.
A bit too low for me, as bumps are a problem. I have to go really slow.
Comfort and handling, excellent. But the problem is, that for me it is really great, but for you... you might think it's too harsh. Suspension settings , are a personal thing and what i like, you might not. The best way out is to try a few different member cars and see what you like or not.

I hear the best compromise is to buy the complete Alpina set up, shocks and springs. I was quoted around 7k for a set.

I have just installed Eibach spring and Eibach Pro damper...car is lower and the handling is better. Ride is a bit harder as compared to the standard shock and spring. So far I am happy with it.

Am running on Mtec springs + Bilstein Yellows. Ride is firm with taut control. Ride height is about 1 to 1.5" lower than std car.

I went for Standard cheap Sachs shocks and Bilstein springs made by Eibach. Got the nice lowered looks, won't scrape bottom and still got old man compatible ride. Not as comfortable as standard springs but still about as comfortable as a Perdana. Handling is sporty like a much smaller car. Not much body roll and attacks corners better than a hot hatch.

I think, we have discuss abt this issue, sometime back ...
And it covers the whole spectrum.

Type of car and personal preference can be the deciding factors.

yups... it's all the matter of personal preference, which is subjective. A set-up which gives a hard ride may be acceptable or deemed to be "confortable" to some but not to others. So, best is to ride in other members ride and decide for yourself

What I hope to achieve is sort of a general guide of what these shock and spring offers. Obviously, we have to have a feel of the actual thing to know what's best. Only try to cut short the trying proceess rather than need to sample the whole brand of shock and spring outhere in the market.
Hehe, as quoted from Roslan Aziz (M'sian Idol) " the voice of million can't be that wrong. So if most of the forummers said that this type of shock is soft, I don't believe that they are wrong.
If its already been discussed and deliberated before, I will close this.
