This is a close-up of the damage that our feathered friends can do to our beloved rides.

Before:

After: Not completely gone, but noticeably improved.

Moments earlier, prepping the car. It looks clean and pristine at first glance, but there's more than meets the eye.

The bright light reveals more.

And the DSLR using the RAW file format captures yet more details not visible to the naked eye even under the bright light.

Just applying the products by hand to the panel on the right already made a noticeable difference

It's not just the machine doing the work automatically, skill is still required.

Just to illustrate, what can happen when the machine is used unevenly in somewhat less-than-experienced hands, 'holograms' or buffer trails can result. So I'm told. I'm new to all the jargon.

No car was harmed in this demonstration. With a whisk of the tools, KC soon had the holograms removed.

If we pick a light reflection from the before state and the after state and magnify, brighten and sharpen, here is what the comparison look like. Before on the left (not the swirls), after on the right. Some of the deeper stone chips still remain; either this was a tracked car, or it liked to tail lorries, but greatly improved, especially the fine swirls and scratches.

Hi bro Iceman 68,

Thank you for your kind words.

No, not brave. The brave ones are those who choose the colour black, as I found out recently, takes a whole other level of meticulousness. I figured, if I did not like how it turned out, I could always have the paint removed from the trim.

The color is a certain shade of pearl grey on a sand/gold base. Which is why the color changes depending on the light. Here it is at the wee hours of the morning, under the emerging sunrise, yellow street lamp and the neighbour's white garage light combined.

Actually, I am not into polishing. But rather, I am into obsessing on protecting the paint/clearcoat and keeping the car clean. Would much rather outsource it to the experienced hands of KC and his boys than put my clumsy hands on it myself.

Did not do anything in terms of power, other than Vanos seal and trying to bring it closer to its former glory. Am sure I have a lot to learn from what you've done to your lovely ride, when we meet up someday. Lets make it soon.

Good to see a group of us who are keeping our e36 going strong.

Cheers bro.
