Rationally I'd take the F30 320d for the simple fact that it would be problem free and it is the latest model on the market. The irrational side would always say go for the Audi due to the reasons that (1) 220 bhp stock, tunable to 280bhp, Stage 3 all the way to 350 bhp! (2) quattro system. But bearing in mind that the car probably have only another 2 years of minimal problem free driving compared to a new car with BSRI?

Having ran against a buddy's M3 at Karak, I can confidently say that given all things is equal, the quattro system will almost always outrun the RWD at windy roads, so the question is, what kind of driver are you?

This guy knows his Audi .... How's your RS4?

Sorry..just to give my 2 cents opinion. RS4 is good on wet roads. It's a 4.2 liter, V8 engine, manual, 414bhp (almost same as M3 E92). Pick up better than M3 E92, but in term of cornering, M3 is better. M3 ride is much softer than RS4. Even M5 E39 is softer than RS4. The other bad side of RS4 is there's no service center that can cater the car in KL. Have to go all the way down to Singapore to service. Euromobile cannot even change the battery for the spare key. Only engine oil service. That's it.

You obviously do not know a lot about the RS4 then. The acceleration of the M3 is actually better, while the cornering of the RS4 will eat the M3 for breakfast. I've been servicing the car here in KL since 25,000 km ago. Whoever you've been talking to obviously has no clue?

Sorry to ignite your anger primus2211. Where do you service your RS4? I've been looking for a good one in KL. Euromobile couldn't do much for RS4 since they're not selling it. BTW I love my M3 E92 better :thefinger:

So sorry....just realize...I didn't mean to post "the fingers". What I meant was to put the peace sign..ha..ha..should'nt mess up with all these smiley icons next time..

And for a second there I thought WWIII was about to start...

No worries I guess Liza... it was unintentional and a genuine typo anyways.

So now we know you have an E92 M3... :top::top::top::love::love::love:

from what you are saying, this means that Top Gear test results was wrong and fictional...from their tests the RS4 was even slower than the maniac merc...

I've been on sepang circuit (where else better to test cars?) with rs4 and e92 m3. Rs4 is mysteriously slow despite all d figures and e92 m3 is d fastest bmw i've encountered in sepang. Faster than e60 m5 (too heavy), e46 m3, z4m, 1m (pretty fast) n probably even d csl. I'll still eat them all for breakfast with my 10 yr old subaru but thats only in sepang LOL

Never tried any Merz before except my father's old E280...he..he..

from most of the feedback, the rs4 mysteriously prone to understeering despite all the mechanical traction gizmo...

Stating that is almost like saying that the M3 is mysteriously prone to oversteering. There is no means of fighting physics, it is the law.

In terms of power, the RS4 has been dissappointing on some front because there has been many reported cases where new cars did not meet the actual rated specs. Coupled with the issue of carbon build up in the early FSI engine robing power (similar issues to the MK5 GTI), the car has seen many circumstances whereby it was found wanting and lead to quite a few unfavorable public response. This was the reason I insisted on sourcing the car myself from UK when I was planning to buy.

TopGear, hmmmm my personal feel on this is they're funny but silly. If folks were to believe everything shown, we'd all be driving the Fiat Pandas and Ferrari 458's. In addition, take into account that they bothered doing a full challenge for the RS4 while the M3 only had a review. Does this mean the M3 is any less? I don't think so.

What do I personally think of the M3? it may come as a surprise to some, I actually find that it is a pretty good car. I actually tested the car 3 times, combination of saloon, coupe, DCT and manual while looking for a newer replacement for the 5 year old RS4. Why did I not buy it? I did not think that it was any better or worse than the RS4.

All I can say is the Merc was super nervous.. both under and over steer, taking turn to spook the driver.. :42:

The Audi despite boring, if wet road, will of course beat the other 2 RWD due to the better traction.
