isnt it the same for every car brand?? if they dont have the car, they cant let you drive??

i wanted to test drive the X6 before buying, but most SC (irregardless of brand) dont have it for test drive. means bad service?

the only car dealer than will send a car to you to test drive is Infiniti.

JennyPenny. not the no test drive unit that irritated me. its the remarks. u think as a salesman u wan to tell your customer that many others dont even need to test drive and they can buy without a bat on the lid. ya, many wealthy men out there can do that. but if i would like to test drive before making decision, the salesman need to mock at me in such a way?

i mentioned this in the SA's dialogue: JB Audi enthusiats usually pay even no test drive.

sorry. misunderstood you. i thought its about not being able to get a test car.

no worries. sharing is caring. Audi service standard in MY really cannot make it.. few years back, u r even required to service in Proton SC, OMG.

by far, i still prefer C&C in JB. at least i got good experience there.

Salesman sometimes uses color glasses when dealing with customers. If you are some VVIPs, I am sure it can be arranged.

i super love Infiniti service. they have the best service in Malaysia.

want to test a car? give them a call, they will send it to you.
want to service your car? give them a call, they will pick it up for you and return it.

Although they probably would have included this is the price, but this type of service is hard to get now.

BMW does send car to customer to test drive, I'm no VIP and I didn't buy some M monster, only E90. But I wonder do they pick up and drop off for service like Infiniti?

As a potential client walking into the Audi showroom, you would expect someone to meet and greet you but there was no one, even though there are many staff there (it is an open concept). After lingering for like 20 mins (saw and sat in almost all models in the showroom), still no one bother to approach me. So finally step up to the person sitting over the counter and ask for test drive, she ask me to wait first. Huh? Waited some more then decided to leave the showroom. When to BMW showroom next, less than 1 minutes into the showroom, a pleasant smile greeted me. And that really matters, not the snobbish manner at the Audi showroom. Just my 2 cent worth, maybe others here have better chance with them.

Cheers.

Is it just me, but don't y'all find CVT to be an absolute sacrilege...?!! No respecting Conti with sporting pretensions should come with CVT. Leave that for the Hybrids! To me lah, the A4 1.8T is a no-no coz CVT is a deal-breaker. The 2.0T with S-Tronic (DSG) is a totally different ballgame. The 8-speeder on F30 320i (even non-sports) is still ahead of the curve.

So the points in favor of F30, better gear box, better engine, newer look, and yes, better dynamics. On the quality issues, I recall my brother had a problem with his B8's engine that took not weeks, but months to resolve, firstly the technical bit, then the bill coz it was so terminal (timing belt snapped), he rightly felt Audi Malaysia should foot the bill. They eventually agreed to pay half. I have owned the E36, E46 and E92 for years without enduring the heartache he had. As for the F30, there are issues, but it hasn't robbed me of enjoying its wonderful dynamics.

Just like in a relationship, where got perfection one? You win some, you lose some. As long as we don't lose an arm or leg - which in F30 case, matters that can be resolved. The critical component of the car as mentioned by Juan makes up the car and in that respect the F30 rocks. Just look at the photo below, how not to fall in love?

Hi Jan999, totally understand and feel you. Now I finally stop blamming these sales people, because unlike you and me, these people are usually less fortunate than most of us here in obtaining proper education hence their groups of friends are also of the same breed which explains the lack of professionalism in these group of people which is also the same group of people contributing to the increasing statistic of "Brain Drain" in Malaysia . Hence, I dont expect many polish sales people around. "Maybe im just trying to console myself to hate these buggers less :) or it could be a fact". Just my few cents

yap. at first i probably will get angry. after a while, i will tell myself. if they can perform like what we do. perhaps, they will be the buyer where we will be the SA, lol

I waited 13 months for my car to arrive from Euromobil vs the past 2 BMWs from AB which arrived in days from the date of order. Limited stocks and not a high volume car vs. BMW and hence the sales folks don't seem that "hungry" in EM from what I can tell. However, the salesman was also not pushy and was very nice for my case.

I would agree with JPB. If you are thinking of the Audi, best to get the Quattro with the dual clutch tranny, S-line kit and B&O. Else the RWD 8 spd tranny 320i should be a lot more fun to drive. However, the Audi will feel more special to drive as its not as common. It's a more lifestyle and classy car vs. driver car for BMW. My advise is to try and own both in your lifetime. Both are great cars but yet quite different "feeling" behind the wheel.

They need to learn a thing or two from the Japs in terms of sales people at shops and outlets. These guys know service! Of course not all are bad :)

Purchasing experience with BMW at AB was great. Wish i can say the same on their after sales service. I make appointment to drop off the car and after 4.5 days, nobody called me to even ask what is wrong with the car or let me know if they have completed the work. I called them 4 times trying to find someone to own up and give me an update. Had to complaint to head of after sales to just get a call back!

That said, i love the car. Won't buy an A4 just because BMW service or car has issues. Golf R, maybe. :)

So what's the reason given for keeping your car for 4.5 days? Did they solved your problem?

My worst experience with dealerships is with BMW. You don't look rich, they don give a rats a$$. Simple la ... after sales with AB is unbelievably absurd. Hahahahahaa ...
