Once they tekan I cannot catch up already... Hahaha.

Actually, the pick up of the 730Li is quite modest - in the old E65 I drove, the best I ever timed was about 7-8 secs from 0 - 100km/h (me, wifey & mother-in-law in the car), and mind you, the E65 is the short wheel base version & is lighter than the present F02 (long wheel base).

However, ONCE they've picked up speed, my goodness, those things are like a homing missile. I've ever driven from Singapore to KL (started very early, at about 430am, cleared Tuas customs & Sultan Abu Bakar Complex by about 5am, and reached KL city fringes 2.5 hours later. That's an average speed of about 130km/h, which doesn't sound very impressive, until you consider that we took toilet breaks & there were occasions where I had to cut down on speed (e.g. approaching toll booths & overhead bridges) - so, to catch up on the 130km/h average, I definitely would have to floor the car in a big way.

And it's pretty impressive to think that even at 220km/h, the E65 is rock-solid steady, and never wavered from the piloted course.

Once my F02 is fully run in, I'm making another cannonball run up north heheheh :)

When that day comes, don't forget to drop by for the TT sessions.

I'm sure many would love to check out your rides. :adore:

This I promise you, Bro Eggie sir, I will see you guys up in KL one day, to mutually admire ALL the fine rides up there ... but, especially to see the transformation of yours :)

My apologies again, to a section of the Official Members of BMWCM. I've overstayed my welcome, and I should take out the trash as I leave.

That would be great! Never really came up close and personal with either the E65 and F01s actually. Haha, thanks for your kind words bro, and support on my thread. :adore:

Hi Bro EL118, so far 1 year only < 3400 km :(. I've been driving around town aimlessly, trying to hit 4000km, so I can go for my servicing and oil change - if I follow the onboard computer, I still have to wait for another 6000km before I'm due to bring the car in for it's first servicing. After that I reckon should be ready for me to rocket up north ... I'm seeing if I can find time at the year's end to carve out a trip - year end got a lot of relatives visiting as usual. Sure busy entertaining them sigh...

I'm also looking forward to meeting up with you guys. By that time, I think you would have gotten your toy manual hehehe. Would also love to visit your palace and admire your rides there. As you can see, unlike your house, my cluster house don't even have space to expand for a third car (I've been itching for a SUV - maybe an X3 or X6, or even the Evoque) so I'm stuck with the BMWs for now hehe.

Your engine is N52 or N52N ? recently i checked out a F02 730Li engine type is N52N, probably an updated version.

I dunno actually - how do I check ah?

go to www.realoem.com

key in the last 7 alphanumeric digits of your car chassis no. ( normally 13 digits starts with WBA.......)

all info about production date, engine type etc will be shown.

Gosh, I swear to you, I learn something new EVERY second! Thanks EL118 :adore:

7 months ago i know nuts about BMW. This is my favourite website now, he he

Aiya... timing not convenient bro :( I would love to, but for Dec, already more or less fully booked with relatives & family coming over to Singapore to visit (will be like this all the way until after CNY - then it'll be my turn to go visit them hehe). I can't zoom out of the country when the relatives are flying in what... they'll chop my head off!

Hi EL118,

May I ask what is the difference between N52, N52N and N52T?
N52T is quoted as specs for 7s sold on the BMW website!
However, for the same car, using www.realoem.com, it says N52N???

Hi CleanWorldPeace,

I think the N52, N52N engines refer to certain emission guidelines. I don't know much about N52T - AFAIK, all N52 designations refer to naturally aspirated IL6 engines.

N52 engine debut in end 2005 and N52N is an updated version released in late 2008, to solve the engine lifter tappet noise issue. i am not sure about N52T. yours comes with N52T?

Well, if I strike toto, 4D and hit the jackpot at the casino, my next engine will no longer start with the letter 'N' but with the letter 'S' - S63B44TU to be exact hehehe.

But seeing how I don't buy toto, don't play 4D and definitely don't gamble, that dream will remain a dream for a looooong time
