Good write up bro, agreed with most of your comments, How much HP we wanted from our mode and how fast we want to go ? I have same ride N52, 523 Lci 190HP, Dressed with Eibach lower spring, Bilsten B8 Shock, 17"OEM with Potenza RFT Wheel, Replace Front & Back with H&R ARB, Kinley Strut Bar and DIY Airscoop found in E60 Forum, scoop coolair direct into OEM Airbox with drop in KNN, Really satified with the ride able to go to 225Kph on NSH without feel anything, still another 1/4 of pedal to floor, maybe I can drag to 250Kph if I dare, Really enjoy my ride if I am alone, Kekekeke, Good luck with your mode, Cheer:top:

DIY?? I wonder how to scoop cool air into the OEM Airbox when the air is not cool :D don't forget that Malaysia is panas dan lembap sepanjang tahun so it has no cool air (well, with the exception in the morning but how cool can it gets? I wonder... ). However with the drop-in KNN, the airflow will be improved a bit although not as much as the aFe intake :D
H&R ARB is next on my list :top:
hey, you can actually consider the PowerBox as it brings out the best to the 523 model!!

Hi Noctilux,
Since you are a newbie, please introduce yourself in the newbie section before all the official members, founding members, vice president, moderator or even the president himself ask you to :D it's a rule here! and do make yourself active by participating a lot in this forum if you are intending to sell anything.
I have already checked and the Powerbox will not fit your X5 with N62 engine  however, if you don't mind the groaning sound (it can get a little bit noisy especially when you accelerate), you can choose to install the aFe Stage 2 Pro5R Intake Kit just like what I did to my E60. The part number will be #54-10682 :top: However from what I see, it will cost you about USD500 or more including delivery charges from US to Malaysia. Please read this thread thoroughly on how to save on our Malaysian Custom Tax! I sudah kena :D so you have been warned!
After that, you will feel the improvement in both pickup (from standstill) and acceleration!

Hi, Thule. Thanks for the info, but my area is so dusty, might not be suitable for this kind of modification, but nice to follow this thread.

that PB cant modified to m54 engine? mine is M54.. =(

I'm afraid that you can't install the PB bro

But with the M54 engine, I understand that you can do something else to your car... by installing lightweight underdrive pulley. My little brother did the same to his E46 with M54 engine and he claimed that an increase of 10% can be expected :top: but don't buy those ciplak brand la.. go to those reputable tuners :D

As discussed, There are a lot of ways to improve performance to our cars... by that, I mean not only limited to E60 with N52 engines but also M54 and other kind of models (that is, if you want to share here :D)
Recently, I got myself a set of Breyton Race GTS 18" which is lighter & stronger... oh did I mention that I LOVE the rims??? However, I didn't like the colour and asked to be sent to my regular paint shop in USJ. Simply told the guy who handles my car all the time "PIMP MY RIMS!!!" We actually brainstormed on how to spray paint my new set of Breyton over a cup of coffee :D in the end I have decided to have 2 colours - silver & matt black!
Trust me when I say this guy really know how to make the rim outstanding by combining these 2 colours! First of all, the rims (inside and outside) were painted matt black. Then the surface was painted with silver. Attached 2 pic for you to see:

What do you guys think?

Nice combo with the colours bro..its actually emerging the outer bones of the rim..good job! by the way do they have Race GTS 19'' ? and care to share the market price anyone ?

Bro.... nice rims.. *bump*... by the way... How do you do KDS alignment with those rims.. plus if you drive a E60 with the assisted steering alignment would be pretty hard to do.. I drove a E36 for 10 years and not once I send my car to any normal workshops that they settle my alignment in just one visit... Please do share you secrets...

Thanks bro! One of the reason why the rims look so darn BEAUTIFUL is that they use the best paint - Glasurit! :D And that's exactly what I want when you said "emerging the outer bones of the rim" :top: that way, the rims look bigger even though it's only 18"! Initially I wanted 19" but due to the road condition in my area, I decided to stick to 18".. plus the tires are cheaper :D
I'm pretty sure that they have the Race GTS 19"... been told that it cost in the region of 7k :D interested? Let me know ok?

Thanks bro :top: actually I do normal alignment dutifully every 10000km with Lim Tayar TTDI. So far so good :D I know about KDS alignment but I don't know where to do it beside AB or Ingress! And I hate to be in the waiting list :D

nice rim and awesome color thule! yehaa

Thanks bro! By the way, did you read about the underdrive pulley for M54 engine?? I replied you earlier.. a gain of approx. 10% can be expected! My bro did the same for his E46 with M54 engine. According to him - the car actually felt very light wor :D but I did try his car and pickup-wise, my E60 is no match. But I always belakang mari!!!

Hey guys,
I might have just found a way to buy the PowerBox without having to break the wallet :D
I am not going to disclose it first coz I want to see it for myself (as in I'm going to be the guinea pig). Once everything is confirmed and I am sure that the PB can be bought at half the price, I'll let you know :top:

P.S: Keep your fingers crossed :D

Bro thule,
Where in USJ you sent the wheels for painting? Interested to do mine also.
