PB Group BUY!!!!!! can ar??

hmmm... still waiting for feedback from hakim_radzuan :D
paging paging... have u asked on the price???

the way i figured it was that if Singapore is selling cheaper than anywhere nearby, we may get it even cheaper if we all get a big bulk at one go.... thus road trip to either sunway or singapore...

of course Sunway will be the preferred choice, given the option! But my guess is that our Singapore counterpart will be cheaper compared to the price we get in Sunway (someone pls prove me wrong!!!)
We are talking about 3 hours drive down South and then back to KL which would take another 3 hours. What about the time taken at the Custom & Immigration? Installation might be fast but we are not the only customers there.

not to mention if we use second link sure expensive like hell wan.... save on buying cost but spend on joyride.... 6 HOURS JOYRIDE!!!

so.. back to the question... who volunteer go check sunway for PB??? remember to tell the dude group buy ya.. then we flood Sunway with UDMs.....

Fuyo!!! Cannot get cheaper for group buy arr? Still better than 6 hours drive and custom jam.....

bros, confirm $1150 from Boss Motosport in Singapore.

Let me know how i can help you guys down here in Singapore.

Hmmm... based on the exchange rate of 2.35, the price of PB in Singapore is about RM2700 already!
Toll, petrol, food should work out for another RM300 :D pretty much the same loh! But haven't taken into account the wear & tear (for driving about RM700++km) of our car :D

so bro hakim_radzuan... takde group buy price ke???

Opps... i missed out.

I'm driving E60 525 and on PB... i can feel the difference with bhp at 200bhp(about)

PB is vey effective for 523... i heard it could bring bhp to 214bhp....(not sure, but i heard)

Hi Wolf,
I'm driving E60 523, I think it's N52. When the bhp increased to 214 after installing BMS PB what about the torque? Any increase as well?

Btw, from what I read in this thread, after I installed the BMS PB, I don't need to do ECU re-mapping right? Is it necessary to do the re-mapping since the PB installation is doing almost the same thing right?

TQ.

Bro,
You don't have to re-map your ECU even after installing the PB! Imagine an increase of a whopping 40++bhp to your engine! It's almost similar to the 525i engine already!!! :top:

one question though... I already have 218 hp on my car... will there still be improvements?

For N52 engine, you can expect an increase of 8-10bhp! Anyway, I have copied from other site.. enjoy :top:

Benefits & Features

* 100% Plug and play
* Gains of 8-10 horsepower & 8-10 Ft./Lbs of torque at the rear wheels
* 7 available maps
* Easy switching of maps can be changed from the drivers seat
* Improved throttle response
* Compatible with both N51 & N52 motors

Map Guide
Map 0 - Disables BMS Power Box, all signals pass through
Map 1 - 30% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 2 - 60% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 3 - 100% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 4 - 30% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 5 - 60% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 6 -100% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 7 - throttle remapping disabled, performance tuning on

How to Switch Maps
Insert the keyfob and press the start button to turn the ignition on (lights on the dash but the engine is not running). Press and hold the gas pedal down to the floor for 4 seconds or more, then release. This puts the Power Box into listen mode. If you start the engine at this point you will be on map 0. For performance maps press the gas pedal to the floor and quicly release one time for each map you would like to select. For example, for map 3 press and release the gas 3 times, then start the engine. Your map setting will be saved until it is changed.

Everything sounds good to me :top: rave reviews from those who have actually installed this PowerBox!
Now I only have to find the moolah to buy & install it :D

Hi bros....

Not sure this is accurate but PB suppose to give Max Gains (Delta) of over 24Bhp & 28Nm Torque.

I have done my dyno though. But with PB on my ride feels good though.

I have been driving my BMW E60 525i with N52 engine for more than a year now. So far I have not encountered any serious problem related to this model. My grave concern was the makan minyak hitam issue but after more than 60000km drive with engine oil change (Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40) every 10000km, I'm very satisfied with my JOY :top: :rock:

But after a while, I started to get itchy :D wanted to do something different to my already perfect (well, at least to me) ride. Knowing the fact that there is about 218bhp under the hood, I can't help but to think of ways to further ENHANCE its performance hence this thread. Maybe the input from all the forumers (no matter you are E60 owner or not) can help to shed some lights to those who want to add extra hp :wink:

Apart from aesthetic enhancement - Hamann front lip (sudah pecah.. no more coz got problem going into carparks with steep slope), Hamann diffuser (to accommodate my quad exhaust), Angel iBright v3 white angel eye ring marker, chrome front grille, some customised stickers...... I feel like giving it extra horsepower. So what do you think?

So far I have only added Remus Quad Exhaust! With significant backpressure reduction, my E60's pick up and acceleration has improved compared to when using stock twin exhaust :top: sounds nicer ie. deep sporty yet non-intrusive sound. It is claimed that performance gain as high as 3-5% is achievable (Factors like car make, model, engine size, exhaust restriction and rev ranges play an important role).

So... what else can be done in order to add extra oommpphhhh??? I have actually listed a few:

1) Supercharger - ESS, G-Power, etc... but it's way out of my league. I can't afford these stuff which easily cost more than 5 digits

2) Light weight crank pulley - last time I checked, there was no pulley available for E60 with N52 engine. But for M54 engine got lah (take note). Gain of 10% is claimed!

3) Exhaust Manifold - Have been looking around for a custom exhaust shop that can convince me to do this job as I don't want any potential problem. so far I have listed a few shops such as JFA & Torque Gear (Sunway) but haven't got time to approach them yet. Places like Xin Exhaust advertise for about RM1800 for stainless steel (I wonder what grade) but I am sceptical about this shop. Anyone can share some info here? What is the performance after changing the manifold?

4) ECU Remap - I think this has been discussed extensively everywhere by almost everyone. My research conclude that there are many BMW specialists around Klang Valley that can get this job done. Damage? RM2500-4500 (different place quotes different price) :D performance gain about 5-10%
P.S: for those who want to do re-mapping, do all the modifications before the re-mapping ok? So they can do dyno on your car before determining the optimum setting for your car :top: this is what told by some friends of mine

5) Drilled Slot Front & Rear Brake Rotors - well, no gain in power but definitely will improve your braking. Cross drilled and slotted rotors are engineered to provide maximum heat dissipation for dependable and safe braking under extreme braking conditions. The combination of the cross drilled holes and slots enables the braking surface to be cleaner thus providing improved friction bite under wet and dry conditions. Also don't forget to replace the stock rubber brake hose with Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Hose (lifetime warranty). This brand is said to be the OEM supplier for Brembo performance brake kit. Cost about RM500++

6) Air Intake - normally our stock air filter does not offer the optimum performance to our car. That is why companies like K&N and BMC offer drop-in air filter to replace factory stock, which in turn offers small gain in power. Of course, for more performance... high end stuff like Gruppe M which cost somewhere in the region of RM4-5k can offer the desired result. But it's too expensive (to me). That is why I have ordered this aFe Magnum FORCE Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System for E60 525i and 530i (year 2006-) from the US. FYI, the product number is #54-11042 so those who are interested. Have been googling around and so far the feedback has been encouraging. That is why I have ordered one unit of this from a shop in US... damage? RM1700 including custom and tax... sigh! Should have asked the shop to declare lower value in order to save the tax... below is the picture

Basically that's all I know for the moment... any input will be highly appreciated. Hopefully this discussion will serve as the base for those who want to beautify and enhance their current ride! :rock:
Good write up bro, agreed with most of your comments, How much HP we wanted from our mode and how fast we want to go ? I have same ride N52, 523 Lci 190HP, Dressed with Eibach lower spring, Bilsten B8 Shock, 17"OEM with Potenza RFT Wheel, Replace Front & Back with H&R ARB, Kinley Strut Bar and DIY Airscoop found in E60 Forum, scoop coolair direct into OEM Airbox with drop in KNN, Really satified with the ride able to go to 225Kph on NSH without feel anything, still another 1/4 of pedal to floor, maybe I can drag to 250Kph if I dare, Really enjoy my ride if I am alone, Kekekeke, Good luck with your mode, Cheer:top:
