Add a spoiler. M3 type but Japan Fiber. Get it for RM350, Repair RM80, Paint work RM250, Installation Rm25.... So total RM705

It definitely have a function not just cosmetic... I can feel more stable during cruising at highway and improve stability for fast cornering

And for fuel consumption

I get 290km for RM70 RON95 (36.8l) (Petronas fuel).... it's mean 7.88km/l... 80% highway driving with average speed of 110 to 120km/h... is it normal???? or how I can reduce the fuel consumption but with same driving style...

Hi unos, just wanted to say thanks for updating this thread. I've just read it start to finish and find it really helpful to help me budget for an E36. But its quite scary looking at the total sum of bills you have gone through, so really need to think hard. I am actually considering getting an E36 as a daily driver currently so still looking around. Actually, when I joined this forum back then I was still in high school haha and the E30 was my favourite car. Now I am actually working already so slowly thinking of getting a udm. Currently I notice E30 have increased in value and the cheap ones are not in good condition. That's why I am looking at E36 since prices have gone down. I prefer a manual but most manual I see on sale are 318. A lot of people say the 4 potter is too underpowered though. Still thinking though as now I see E46 also getting cheaper. Haha so much things to consider but I am most worried about the maintenance aspect. So still need to read up on which will be a better option.

Yesterday i hv replace used starter motor for rm350. Recently with old starter i hv to crank the engine many time and some time only cesss sound after each crank. Then my mechanic said starter hv give away.

Also change Air mass sensor bellow to manifold. Less then rm100 new from AB. Old one crack / have long hole near the metal clamp ring. Could this make my fuel consumption high?

Changed used unit FR window regulator with motor set RM250 + new white plastic slider sets

total cost RM955 including labor fee RM200

Fuel consumption study.

My car only manage to get 7.88km/l on highway with speed 110 to 120kmh.

From internet reading mostly i found consumption for highway driving with average speed of 110kmh is 11km/l

Then from Bro Anxious E36 325i thread, highway driving he get full tank for 600km. If my calculation right that is 12km/l.

wow I'm wasting so much fuel here, around 30%. What could be wrong????

I will calculate new fuel consumption with new bellow and update here

My e36 325 running on ron 95, 18' rims, can go 370km with RM57.00 petrol..that is equivalent to 15 sen/km with average speed of 120kmh...abt 12km/litre i guess

Tires play a role in fuel efficiency as well, although I cant say for sure how much it could contribute to increased/decreased in consumption.

How often the highway increase in gradient also could effect your consumption, cuz you will need more throttle to accelerate up to speed.

The remaining 20% of your driving could also take a toll, is it bad stop-go traffic in that 20% of non-highway driving?

BTW, that spoiler increases drag ;) That could be the culprit.

My M52B25's consumption dropped thanks to increase in traffic congestion, I could go ~100KM for RM30 worth of fuel, now only 80+km. Traffic has worsen in KL, also reach my destination 10 minutes later than before.

What was the symptom of the failing power window? Mine would not stop when it reaches the top & bottom of the frame.

Chrix, the 20% only stop at few traffic light less then 10 lights and 4 roundabout. No stop and go traffic jem in my way.

For my failing power window. It's always have tak2 sound and jerking when up or down. Also not stop when fully up

Guys,

1. What are the effects from kaput O2 sensor / exhaust sensor?
2. How can we know the O2 sensor / exhaust sensor is kaput? or their is any symptom?

fuel consumption will be very bad , bad smell from the exhaust due to the mixture.. better to get this replaced bro if its faulty..

Bro, what is your fc before and after change the exhaust sensor?

honestly i dont really calculate because everytime when i try to drive in an eco mode however i still hit the redline , so after several times of trying i gave up..haha..
but just on my estimation , full tank i can get 450-480km (mixed driving -hgway n town) but if the exhaust sensor is out i can hardly reach the 350km ..
