same old stories from BMWCM committee ..... when collect money all ada , when go convoy macam macam cerita ADA ...
Bailey , you're the man ..... how come no award for the most supportive active member in BMWCM during last anual dinner .....unlike 2007 you've been greatly appreciated ....
Hope you all had a fun trip. I'm sorry I couldn't make it for this one.
I don't need to tell anyone here how enjoyable it is to take the beemer out for a drive out of town even more so in a convoy. The drives I took part in last year to Ulu Yam and Kuala Klawang (organised by BlackE90) were some of the most memorable aspects of the year for me. So, who wouldn't want to be part of this if they can make it. Kudos to RB for having organised countless drives! That's what this Club should be about.
However, there are many things this Club should not be about and I'm disturbed by some of the insinuations that have been made. I can handle a jest but after a while, when some ramblings get repeated often enough and by the same persons, it points to a misconception or much worse, an agenda.
I know I have been away from the forum for a while and I do miss it actually. The fact is I took on a new job in November last year and the last 4 months have been about working 15 hours a day, some weekends included. There's no question that this has taken its toll on any aspect of my social life. It has been "Sheer Exhaustion Pain" for me. BTW, I'm doing Corporate Debt Restructuring and anyone who has done CF can tell ya it's a line of work where clients are very "kan cheong" because of the huge amount of money involved, enough to make or break the viability of businesses, even conglomerates, especially in the prevailing economic climate.
I rest in some comfort that before this, I managed to regularised the Club's position with ROS which involved preparing volumnious amounts of submissions, initiated critical amendments to our Club's Constitution and was part of the team which secured good, reputable and long term sponsors for the Club and its activities. The list goes on and this will be any even longer post if I have to list everything.
The point is this... Despite professional and personal challenges (those close to me can attest that I have had plenty of that too!..), many of us in the Committee have to carry out the "thankless and mundane" jobs. We are unaccustomed to standing in the lime light and bragging about the minute details but we certainly don't deserve the snipe remarks too. There are elements within the Committee who are more "activities" or PR oriented and that's great too. All in all, both have to function with the same level of commitment and camaraderie for the betterment of the Club. I hope we are all on the same page on this. I trust that members of the Committee you are closer to have been sharing with you what the Committee has and will carry out for the Club, the 2009 calendar of events for eg.
I hope for some understanding cos without this, it's just not fun for some of us anymore and without this, what's the point ya.
