i know what a helpful person you are uncle.. but i need to let go of my E34 M60B30 before i can even consider an E38.. but not at firesale price la

It's not an upgrade. I put back the original exhaust. Previously cat removed and centre box also removed. So it's a bit loud for my liking.

Boss, what exhaust upgrade did you do? Care to share. :)

This was the first BMW I ever test drove before I finally got my present ride which is a E36 328.

It was love at first sight :love:though at the time I was scared of the maintenance (this was an E38 730i)

Now the time is ripe to my find my true love again :)

good luck bro.. my ray of sunshine will have to wait till next year.

Thanks Mizhan - btw I met up with Asrul this morning to check out his E38 728. Mechanically its seems pretty ok though the interior needs a bit of work. Planning to get it checked out by my mechanic tomorrow morning and if all goes well I might finally have my transporter:)
BTW just wanted to check is it normal for this model/engine to consume some engine oil over a period of time?

So far my engine seems ok. Done more than 3,000 kms with 2 trips to Singapore have not noticed any drop in engine oil and coolant too.

Make sure those power windows work. They are expensive to replace.

correct about the interior - front seats need new leather, rear bench needs new foam cushion. might be a good idea to run the import documents via customs too.. can't be too sure.

Good point bro. How would i check with customs - is there an online portal or would i have to call them up?

Would you have any idea how much it cost to do up the interior?

asrul has copies of actual AP and document indicating duty paid. take them to the kelana jaya customs office for verification. that's for the car's import legality. then comes the puspakom inspection to determine whether car is per that of title.

E36 interior cost me 2.5k, so expect another 1k or so for the much larger E38.
