Wow, so many suggestions from 17 - 19" now. Next will be 20". Too many choices so just stay at 16" Original for now.

congratulations on your purchase bro... very nice e38!

p.s. no need change bigger rim la... unless u need to use bigger disc brake ;)

Today got to Albert Workshop (WP Auto) my long trusted BMW Workshop and replace all 4 shock absorbers. BOGE & New bump stop. Quite a lot of work for the rear replacement as the seats need to be out and the speaker board also has to be taken out to access the top mount of the absorbers.

While Albert was doing the replacement we checked all other under carriage components. Everything is in almost new condition and they are all original parts. Quite understandable as the previous owners had almost all services done at AB Segambut.

If I can do 190km/h run on those sick absorbers and yet feel confident about the drive. It just need very little imagination what these new good absorbers can do to the car.

Was at WP Auto at the same time and bumped into Vincent and his new ride. Very nice...

Haha. Nicely said. Let us know how fast you can take the E38 now considering your absorbers had been changed. :)

Hey Guys thanks for the great messages. BMW never fails to impress me. One E30 320i, Two E36 328i, One E28 528i, Two E34 525i, One E23 728i, One E32 735iL and now E38 728i. The pleasure of driving a BMW is something very hard to describe but addictive.

Andrew, will try to do what I do best. Anyway, this car has a very good base to begin with.

Congratulation again Brother,

Like I said earlier, you are progressing pretty well climbing the BMW Corporate ladder.

Looking at how things are progressing, I won't be surprise with what Andrewk is forcasting...another grreat car in the making....:top:

Keep us posted brother.

What is missing from his stable are the M series....:listen::top::top: Maybe his next purchase would be an M5????

Just wondering how much my car is worth nowadays E38 728i year 2000 ? Uk Spec. Thinking of upgrading to E65.

One of the forummer here bought a 2001 double vanos for around RM90K just 2 months ago. And I also have a friend who just sold his 1998 but converted to double vanos for RM88K just very recently. I think it all depends on the condition and how well the car has been maintained.

unker, is yours with the double glazing windows ?

was told the power window motor is expensive ?

Thanks for the info. Can contact me if anyone is interested in E38. Dark blue , well maintain milege 90K miles.

Mine is the non double glazing windows. Those doors with these windows are damn heavy. Mine only 728i every gm saving on weight is a bonus to the performance.

True, true those power window sets are very expensive. But there are alternatives to get cheaper ones from the chop shop if needed.

Latest done list (yesterday)
1. Replaced the aircond belting, aircond tensioner pulley and aircond tensioner. (Previously the car was equipped with those fixed modified tensioner - Didn't like it as it was causing a lot of vibration and noise)
2. Replaced brake pads all round with new sensors
3. Replaced tie-rod ends plus wheel alignment

Now need to hunt for power windows set. Anyone knows of chop shop with half cut E38? Another option is to get those aftermarket Taiwanese made. But past experience of using aftermarket Taiwanese P/Windows regulator not too favourable.

Engine now runs very quiet.

sorry bro vincent using your thread.

bro airtrek what year for your E38?

Since getting the car about a month ago, today was the first time I had the car hoisted up to have a closer look at the under carriage. I am totally happy that the car is very neat. Dry as bone. Not an oil leak from the engine, gearbox and rear diff. No dents or major scratches on the floorboard.
