I agree with pussy coz mine is 97' 328i, it's has everything compare to 96' 328i likes immobelizer & EWS...

Think bout it bro :D

Some advices :

1. Choose not the cheapest car in the merket, but best maintained. Do not pay premium just for the accessories, get a good car and them pimped it up as much as you wish/afford to..

2. Be prepared to spend some initail investment to change a few parts. Could cost a few $k.

3. Do a diagnostic test before you buy (if possible). Otherwise do it first thing after you buy the car.

4. Be prepared for the wear and tear / maintenance. Since an old car will always have parts to change.

5. Identify a BMW specialist near your home/work place whom you can trust.

e35 are mostly over 10 years old. Be prepare for the door seal to be worn, leather seat to crack or making tons of noice, some loose trim inside and outside the car, higher fuel comsumption than newer model etc.

Good luck.

i usually shy shy... 40k-60k. Proton better.

bmw? best.

if you aks me that issit worth for the price tag at this current year .... mmmm not a good time yet cuz it's another 60 more days to go before the price plunges down further....

one advise is , try getting a car which is done up etc Bodykits , rims, suspensions and so on. Cuz this tiny things may cost u a bomb in your pocket and also you have to waste time visiting shop here and there... an example : the ARM Rest thinggy itself cost more or less than RM800 and it's kindda hard to source it these day. and if there is one also you may pay a hefty price tag.

if you're more towards a standard liking car , then there is no comment , but if you're a type that's gonna be itchy modifying it , then rather find one with those listed above ....

As for 318 or 325 doesn't make much of a difference. i believe this is an individual liking.

heard about E36 auto has to rebuild the gearbox when it touch 200k km on mileage no matter how good you maintain/ drive..dunno how true it is...

Most e36 I know had their gearbox done up. Just remeber this, u r getting an okd car so set aside 4k to fix it up.

BMW compared to a brand new? You have pros and cons mate... It all depend on your preference AmuR. I had the same thoughts as you too right before gettin a 2nd hand bimmer. further more with my family asking to get a brand new proton or honda it wasn't an easy choice. however thanks to appu, i was driving his car from S'Ban to USJ one day and i told myself thats it, it is going to a 328 and model 97 above.

it is true to set a side around 10k so that you will be prepared for 1st maintenance service after purchase and if it comes with issues than you will have to spend more. like for me, man ill tell you my story when i see you.

ride comfort, safety comes in play when you wanna choose a BMW compared to a Jap.

true what ICEMAN has said. get a car which has already been modded with body kit, rims and bla bla bla... it comes in handy so you do not have to spend all over again...

last e36 TT, one of the guys told me that there is a beautiful e36 328 1998 model with full body kit... low milage. PM 1+2=3...

all the best mate...

To me, very simple. If the vehicle is not safe, it cannot be called a "car". Those who designed a car must have safety in their minds first. So, a Proton is out of the question. Even if it is new. Why must you endanger your life and your loved ones? Proton parts are not that cheap either considering some of the parts are actually come from Balakong. Another question is who says a brand new Proton is trouble free? Actually, a brand new Proton comes with the most problems such as dangling signal lights, not syncronized power window, ECU problems and the list goes on. You will also never find a six cylinder in-line engine if you buy a Proton or a Japanese car. If you want to find an E36, preferably go for a stock standard version and modify it later. Because, should there be any problems it is easier to trace and therefore it is easier to find the affected parts. You can view this as a savings as well.

Good luck.

Another thing is road tax. Kancil = 30/year, 325 = 890/year, 328=1,600/year. Unless u r really into driving, image, self respect, go and get a produa. And for heaven sack, DO NOT get a proton, for 20 years they still can;t get it right, they will never get it right.

Hi there,
I've just bought a 96 E36 318i manual. It's pretty lovely.

Hope i'm lucky to get a good condition (on the inside) one... lolx..
