Bro sewell, yes and without capacitor the HID will flicker. No programming required.

Bro Lim, indeed, some models may have different checking scheme that a HID load will not trigger an error. You can give it a try first and may get lucky without the need for capacitor.

are we able to use our scanner to re-program our control unit to told the control unit saying we are using HID?

i got this website but dont know ours can be programe or not

The programming relies on model as well. As some models only come with bixenon option, enabling this on bixenon-only model would cause your high beam to not work as there will be new wire need to be routed from LCM to activate the bixenon solenoid. I guess it's okay to reprogram if your model have the xenon-only option (not bixenon). Hope this make sense..

bro aidilj,

i have got all the necessary thing, only left out is the error canceller, i think i should install all the HID and see how the system says, maybe i can re-programe so that i save the error canceller.

Bro, u do for your e39?

I just replaced my HID bulb yesterday. Are u plan to use the H7 or D2R bulb?

I found out some trick if we use the aftermarket H7 bulb socket. My previous H7 bulb electrode is broken due to my negligence when i try to glue the bulb to the socket.

i am using H7 aftermarket bulb. i have already gotten all the bulb socket from HK and HID local seller. now waiting the time to install only.

i also have a set of D2R 1st generation HID sitting at home.

I assume u use this socket for your H7. I only managed to get the 3 latches lock properly in the base after i took out the rubber band (red color in picture) and kikir the side (yellow arrow place) with "steel file". There is no way to lock the socket in the base except what i did. U have to do carefully when u lock the socket to avoid breaking the headlight adjusters.

One more thing, u have to cut the stopper (yellow circle) so that the HID bulb electrode facing downward. Otherwise, the electrode is facing upward and u will get some shadow in light.

bro, i think i also cut the edge of the picture on the bottom left which found from your pic. if not i could not turn into the right position.

Bro sewell,

Do try the HID first and the error can be worked out later if it appears. If I understand correctly, you are replacing your halogen bulb to HID but your low beam is already a projector. Is this correct?

Bro Aidilj,

Yes you are correct mine already come with projector. yesterday install the HID sucessful and take about 1.30 hour to do it. suprisingly no error coming out from the dash. maybe i am luckly enough to get the can-bus ballast.

Bro BMW7833,

the yellow part that you circle do not need to cut. as the edge is use to hold our H7bulb to be at the right position. i use doublesided tape to tape both together (holder and bulb), inorder both are in the right position and it is quite hard for us to turn while put in the o-ring together.

will snap some pic while i got time.

Bro, if u didnt cut the stopper, meant the electrode is facing upward, am i right?

bmw7833,

yes, if not mistaken is facing up. i have check with them they say no problem facing up or down. will snap a pic at night.
