FAQ - SMD LED for E36 & E46

here is what I did for my E46.

here is the 1 way of doing the wiring.
1. The angel eye will light up slowly when the door is open via remote and dimmed down when the door is locked.
2. It will also light up when the door is open.
3. It will stay ON when the engine is started.

just tested the wiring and based on jarance's diagram, i plan to modify a bit where the white wire will connect to the pilot lights so that it will turn on when u flip the LCM switch to position 1 instead of having it always on when u start the engine.

installed the remote trigger to car interior last nite. at the car wash just now a man thought I forgot to turn off the lights, told him "oh nanti padam sendiri". so cool!

good idea. why I never think of that.. :top:

I measured the current and it draws roughly about 500mA for 2 rings (one side). If connect the yellow wire to the dimmer lights, it will draw a total of 1A off that line. Not sure if the LCM's internal regulators are able to supply that high current and I need to measure the wire gauge of the dimmer lights.

what is the amp rating for the relay? 20 Amp or 30 amp? what im going to do is relay 85 is from the low light no 1..then 86 grounding...30 is direct battery and 87 is going to the LED...
